They are looking to increase their volunteer numbers and thus increase the number of families we support.

All money left at the bookie at the end of the night goes to who do amazing things for families who are dealing with the trauma of childhood cancer.

Saturday & Sunday we have the Read Out Loud Children's Book festival in St Georges Shopping Centre
then on Sunday on New Road (in front of former Debenhams store) from 11am (approx) we host Kent's Strongest Man contest in association with Reps & Sets Gym (The Terrace)

The Thames riverside in Gravesend was briefly a hub of remembrance and pride as the community came together yesterday, (3rd September) to commemorate Merchant Navy Day.

This annual event not only honours the brave men and women who served in the merchant navy but also celebrates the vital role they played in safeguarding our nation’s interests at sea, and on the river.

Hosting this commemorative event along the scenic banks of the Thames is a source of immense pride for our community. The river, with its rich maritime history, served as a poignant backdrop, reminding us of the countless journeys taken by merchant seafarers.

As we gathered to pay tribute, the echoes of their sacrifices resonate through the gentle lapping of the water against the shore and passing trade & cruise ships.

On this special day, we united as a community, with veterans, families, and local residents coming together with the Deputy Lieutenant for Kent, the Mayor, our new MP and Councillors to honour those who have dedicated their lives to maritime service.

Today is and here in a commemorative service was held at 11am at Bawley Bay with Deputy Lieutenant Dr Bhargawa Vasudaven; the Mayor of Gravesham - Cllr Daniel Adewale King; MP for Gravesham Dr Lauren Sullivan; Rosemary Dimond (Maritime Volunteer Service) and was conducted by Rvnd: Jacqueline Littlewood - it was attended by veterans, Merchant Navy Association members, Councillors and other guests as well as members of the public - Thanks to the owners of Thames House for the seats - a reception was held afterwards at Fourth Portal

Well, what an amazing day last Friday in town, when we hosted UKPW - United Kingdom Pro Wrestling all afternoon - We hope all who watched enjoyed the fun and if you were the guy in the blue t-shirt in picture four - we'd love to see that selfie!!!
