We're enjoying our new Barn venture, having run a successful yurt holiday site here for 11 years. We're happy to have retained the outside ethos that was so popular with our yurt guests, namely the famous woodland showers, pizza oven, outdoor cooking eating and stargazing as well as a campfire pit. Of course, there's great showers and an amazing kitchen and dining space inside the Barn too! We've

aimed to capture "the spirit of the yurts" with the Barn conversion, courtesy of our creative local builder. We've improved still further our green credentials, with solar panels and batteries, an electric vehicle charging point and electric bikes to borrow. We've done more tree-planting in our 3 acre meadow, which is a wonderful spot for watching the sun go down over a glass of something or stargazing once the nights close in.

Beautiful casings of Alexander leaves, still attached to the main stem. Amazing cream with pinky/red stripes. A startling contrast to the bright green of the leaves and the acid green/yellow of the flowers.
They are threatening to take over the upper copse…

May Bank Holiday - for the first time since we started with the yurts back in 2012, we can offer availability for the (first) May Bank holiday! Up until now, we’ve had the same lovely group of families staying, but this year is the big GCSE year so they’re all studying hard at home. So if you want to book the Barn (and perhaps also a yurt, which will be up in the meadow) head to our website now.

Amazing freezing outside the Barn this morning. You can see the faint fogbow above the roof of the courtyard shack with the freezing fog particles dancing just below it. Which means is at the end of the rain/fog-bow! Must go and hunt that pot of gold….

Our Story

We're looking forward to our 9th season in 2019, with 4 yurts and a lovely Shepherd's Hut, the famous woodland showers plus a very well equipped barn and facilities. Great to get a Guardian Travel website pick of top 10 best new British holidays in our very first year and we’ve been working hard to maintain and develop our offering each year since! Each yurt/hut sits on its own generous decking with a bar-b-q and cooking area, wood burning stove and campfire pit. Our 3 acre meadow is a wonderful spot for watching the sun go down over a glass of something. The newly renovated barn has full-sized table tennis, table football, bikes, games, fridge-freezers as well as brand new showers, toilets and washing up.
