I’ve been doing a few bits and pieces in the hut over the last week. Walking backwards and forwards to the farm for tools and materials. I thought it looked incredibly charming in the winter sunshine. Such a wonderful place to be with the log burner roaring 🔥

Weekend is looking splendid here at we are setting the hut up ready for our next guests coming tomorrow. They’ve picked a great weekend for a break!
As with the rest of the farm the whole family get stuck into the work. Well Baxter chainsaws steps whilst on his lunch break but it’s still work.

With all this sunny weather about we got the new loungers out at the hut. The perfect place to top up the tan whilst absorbing the sounds of nature around. Or enjoying a glass of bubbly whilst watching the sun set on these long evenings. They looked so inviting I had to test them out when I was supposed to be cutting the grass.

It’s such a lovely wander to the hut from the car park. With spring in bloom and the sun out lovely wild flowers line the route. The spiny is full of blue bells which smell fantastic as you pass.

We've been a bit quiet on here recently, we were kept busy preparing for the arrival of this little guy, Kipp Westrop 🥰 (we'll let him off since he's so cute 😍)

Have also had the big ones off school for their Easter holidays, so we've enjoyed getting out for walks in the spring sunshine 🌤

Just topping up the log store for our guests at the weekend. It’s looking like it’s going to be a lovely few days full of sun so I’m sure they are going t ok have a wonderful time. It’s great to see a few flowers in bloom and a bit of colour returning around the hut. Roll on summer ☀️

Whilst putting a new bottle of gas up at the hut this morning for our guests at the weekend I couldn’t help but take a few photos. Wonderful frosty morning today which has turned into a beautiful sunny day. I love winter mornings like this - it’s my favourite time to stay in the hut.

Apologies! We have been very quiet on here recently. It’s been a very long drawn out busy time on the farm the last few months which took most of our attention.

However we wanted to say a massive thank you to all our guests. Due to one thing or another (Covid 😖) this has be our first full year… well nearly full year, up and running. We have been amazed at how busy and popular the hut has been. It’s great seeing it being used for what we built it for finally. Having guests come to stay, relaxing and enjoying themselves is just wonderful to see.
After flicking through the guest book recently we thought we would share some of the comments. Honestly reading these makes all the hard work worthwhile and puts such a smile on both of our faces 😁. We have loved meeting the people that come to stay and chatting about the farm. So thank you all for the support and making this diversification project dream into a successful business.

A memory came up that it was 2 years since our little hut opening celebration! Obviously it hasn't all panned out quite as smoothly as we'd hoped at that point 😬 One upside though is that Andy was able to spend a lot of time working on the area around the hut, and it's nice to see the difference! That little table is THE most perfect spot to eat dinner watching the sunset over the fields 😍

We don’t really need to say anything else Castle Hedingham one of England’s top places to visit this year. When you do come to visit how about having stay in our lovely shepherds hut we can’t wait for you to enjoy our wonderful village as much as we do!

One of our villages Castle Hedingham has been recognised as one of England’s top places to visit in 2021 by - how amazing is that! 🙌😁

The village is a jewel of North Essex that has so much to offer to visitors, being home to the 900-year-old which has many exciting events coming up this summer, and the unique with activities for all the family.

You can also experience other attractions in and around the village, from the award-winning based in Sible Hedingham, to the many wonderful local pubs and tea rooms to enjoy.

It is a place worth visiting this summer for a staycation, and we promise you won’t be disappointed. 💗

Look how tucked away the hut is. You can really get away from the hustle and bustle here - it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind. We still have plenty of availability over the summer in July, August and September. Although the hut is available all year round it’s wonderful being able to sit outside totally secluded enjoying the summer sun into the evening through these months.

We added to our outside area yesterday by putting a lovely stone circle down. New fire pit area coming soon as well hopefully. Massive thanks to Big Phil for lending a hand. Should be the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine watching the sunset.

Just knocked up some box planters to go around the solar panels. Can’t wait to fill them full of wild flowers for our guest to enjoy through the summer.

What are neighbours for.... borrowing stuff 😆

We had some drainage put in front of the hut last week as it got pretty soggy over winter. Today we put a little bit of topsoil and grass seed down to finish it off. Many hands make light work unless they’re small hands then sometimes it takes longer but it’s more fun!

Thanks for the help neighbours. Hopefully it will be a lovely lawn for guests later in spring.

Love him or hate him big Borris has released his road map and as long as we don’t get any diversions we can open from the 12th April. At the moment we have blocked our calendar out until the 1st of May just incase. We will open up bookings earlier when we are nearer the 12th.
If you are thinking about booking with us we have a lot of free dates over the summer. You can now book easily online through our website www.hedinghamhuts.co.uk

It’s a 2 night minimum stay with a flat rate of £100 per night.

We can’t wait to hosts guests again and look forward to seeing you when we re-open in some hopefully drier weather.
