Wild Harris has just joined Our Seas

Welcome to our newest coalition member Wild Harris 🌊

"Wild Harris is a small guiding business in The Isle of Harris. We showcase the nature and wild spaces of the island, including the rich underwater world of our coastline. Our aim is to give as many people as possible a peek into this world by taking them snorkelling. Without exception everyone is amazed by the beauty and diversity within the kelp forests and sea grass meadows. They are blown away by the variety of marine organisms which they encounter with us, and we ourselves feel an ever closer relationship the more we see, learn and tell. Wild Harris wants sea beds to be protected from trawling, dredging and the fall out from fish farming, so that life can recover and flourish, allowing sustainable fishing practices to succeed in the future."

We have just added a FULL DAY Medium level walk to our Wild Walks!
Full day walks will include Harris’ most iconic routes such as the full Postman’s Path loop (18km) and The Coffin Route (12km). It also means we can take you right into Cravadale from Huisinis and have lunch on perhaps the island’s most beautiful remote beach. Or maybe you’ve always wanted to continue up the Eagle Observatory path all the way through Langabhat to Bogha Glas? With us you can, and we will arrange a shuttle back to your car again :)

Wow! So many ways to explore and appreciate our wonderful flora and fauna here on Lewis and Harris and the surrounding waters. I am sure there is something for everyone in this programme...but if you are an individual keen to snorkel, please book onto the snorkel sessions on Wednesday 26th June. I want to share a treasured review of a recent Pot Luck Family Day, from Artie, aged 9: “we had an action-packed adventure where we learned to kayak and make fire. My favourite part was learning about how people lived here long ago. We had an awesome time and learned loads. Can we go again tomorrow?” ❤️

There are now hardly any self catering options on the Isle of Harris unless you have a big budget. We think that’s a pity for people like us who love the outdoors but are not prepared to camp in the UK’s windiest top corner!
