Welcome to our Peach House!
To confirm, it is not a house, and there are no peaches..
When our kids were very small they used to mispronounce beach as peach and always wanted us to take them to the 'peach'.
Finally many years later we have a caravan by the beach and we christened her The Peach House.
We use it ourselves regularly but also hire it out to friends and trusted friends of friends (no riff-raff 😆) at what we guess are quite reasonable rates.
It has a double room with en-suite toilet, bathroom with shower & toilet (and no bath 🤪), a twin room and a generous double sofa-bed in the lounge, so can sleep six people comfortably. Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on lead around the site.
Generally we are offering it from £45 per night (slight increase in the holidays) which includes the bits listed at the bottom of this post. If you were interested, please contact us regarding dates and we can advise availability and price.
It is located in the Park Holidays site at Dovercourt, which is a very short walk to the seaside and the beautiful old town of Harwich.
In fact if you walked from the Peach House you would be at the closest beach in about 5 minutes and the award winning Blue Flag Dovercourt Beach within 10 to 20 minutes depending on if you are meandering or power-walking!
From Dovercourt Beach it is a short walk to Harwich itself which has restaurants, quaint shops and lots to see and do around the Port.
If you prefer a bit of tranquility, a 20 minute walk south along the marshes will bring you to a beautifully isolated beach where you can enjoy just the sound of the waves. If you keep an eye out you can often see seals swimming in the bay and birds of prey hovering over the marshes.
On the site itself you have access to the outdoor areas but you will need to buy a pass on site for access to the Clubhouse, Indoor Swimming Pool and Entertainment (the Swimming Pool underwent a £2m refurbishment during lockdown and is really quite nice). There is a Crazy Golf on site (it's not free) and a fishing lake (which is free).

- Fully functioning kitchen (gas cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, cutlery, pots & pans, chopping boards, cups, glasses, oven gloves, tea towels, baking trays, fridge freezer... more stuff than I can remember)
- Cleaning items
- TV with Freeview
- Use of the site playgrounds and hard court multi-pitch
- Gas Central Heating
- Hand towels
- Toilet rolls
- Shower gel
- Bedding with pillows and throws for extra warmth
What is NOT included:
- Bathroom stuff (toothpaste, toothbrushes)
- Shampoo & conditioner
- Shaving / personal care items
- Access to the Clubhouse (access is available to buy on site)
- WiFi (free wifi is available in the Clubhouse)
