A grand day out in the Peak District hills.
Not quite full on summer, although the fresh breeze and afternoon sunshine made for fresh walking conditions.
Guests enjoyed their picnic lunch and hot drinks, with afternoon tea and cakes, all included in the service.
The Ranger Expeditions Guiding & Support Team on this walk were: John, Al, Davey, Peter and Stu.

A big day out for our Edale Skyline group today, but they cracked on, having great fun making memories with miles and friendships with climbs.
We were joined by a couple of people struggling on Kinder Scout and got them down safe and sound too.

On our guided walks we often talk about folklore and uses of upland berries, especially at this time of year. Including Scandinavian lingonberry (or cowberry as it is known locally).
Available in Ikea is lingon cordial, tastes great when added to sparkling water for a refreshing non alcoholic drink.

Our Story

Based in the historic Peak District village of Hayfield and on the edge of open country, Ranger Expeditions is ideally placed for your guided mountain walking adventures and hill skills training. With professional and qualified outdoor leadership and you can trust us to provide enjoyable and fulfilling days out on the hill. Our client focussed training builds your skills and confidence for your own independent adventures.

We also offer ultra race and challenge event services. We have coordinated Mountain Safety for The Spine Race in the UK and The Legends Trails in Belgium since the first editions of these races. Under our Ranger Ultras umbrella, we organise quality ultra marathons: Yorkshire 3 Peaks Ultra, Pen y Ghent Ultra, Peak District South 2 North Ultras.

In Edale, Stu is a guest instructor for The Peak Centre outdoor centre, working to support the centre’s walking, bushcraft, team building and climbing wall activities.

Stu has also led expeditions extensively across the Iceland and the African continent (Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Namibia, Swaziland, South Africa). He has guided clients to the summit of Kilimanjaro and is particularly experienced in trekking, safari and working in partnership with local NGO community projects.
