We’re at the pool for the morning Trelo Olympic Biathlon… it’s going to be neck and neck, 50 metres of crawl and a 100 metre sprint to grab the first cinnamon bun from Flora. Going for glory.
Just a little Trelo story. We’ve been trying to establish rosa bracteata in several spots but at last here she is in the mounting block yard, now going great guns…..they say if she likes you she can be a bit of a monster. No comment. But I know she’ll go on flowering until October. Such a very pretty rose.

Buzz, buzz, buzz….quick work required by scout bees to report back, by dancing the route, to their colleagues. They only have a few hours of fuel on board so they need to bee quick. Our visitors in Lankidden, Pentreath and Downas enjoying the show. The bees are so not interested in us, all they want to do is to keep the queen and themselves warm and find a home for the new colony.

Well it is Chelsea! This giant wisteria, flowering on the western wall of the Great Stable, is a sight to behold. With some racemes over 24 inches long it is truly spectacular. Flowering right now, come visit and enjoy. Cafe Flora is right beside it.

Bees. We love the bees. The ones that live (not very conveniently) in our bedroom ceiling, have swarmed twice in the last two days. This is the second swarm and much smaller than the first one. Our bee-keeping niece collected the first swarm and the the second one rose up and swirled away to the woods. Fingers crossed they found their new home.

Cleaned and swept by the redoubtable Lawrence Butcher this morning, this afternoon we got this Tudor, two-basket-start-up-beast, alight for the first time in decades.
