Fisher Cottage is just a 10 minute walk from the Blue Flag sandy beach and council run leisure complex. The town centre is only a 5 minute walk away which offers shops, pubs and restaurants. Supermarket with filling station is only 2 minutes walk. Hornsea Mere is Yorkshire’s largest natural fresh water lake, views of which can be seen from the rear garden and bedroom. Boats can be hired at the Mere for rowing and fishing. Local attractions include Honeysuckle Farm, Hornsea Freeport, The Deep Sealife Experience (Hull), Wassand Hall & walled gardens, Burton Agnes Hall and Sewerby Hall. Within a half hour’s drive is the market town of Beverley, whilst further inland lies the rolling countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds. Hornsea is well known for its former pottery factory, Hornsea Pottery, which closed in 2000. The largest display of Hornsea Pottery in the world can be seen at the Hornsea Museum.
