Enjoy the experience of a Highland country house holiday in a traditional Victorian lodge, located in its own large gardens and fully equipped for a relaxing and comfortable stay.

Play croquet on the lawn or arrange a private whisky tasting in The Tipsy Laird, your personal garden bar. And when you feel like it, stroll along the river bank into the old town and explore the bars and restaurants of the Highland Capital. A ten minute walk along the banks of the River Ness takes you under the towers of Inverness Castle to the old town and the High Street. A country retreat? Have the best of both worlds. It’s your stay, your way. A country house lifestyle
Relax, unwind and enjoy the chance to spend time together. The formal drawing room is big enough for everyone to come together and talk over the events of the day round the wood fire, or to enjoy a formal dinner at the 10-seater table overlooking the garden. The kitchen diner is an informal space to gather and plan the day ahead, and leads out to The Tipsy Laird, your private garden bar. With a 6 burner range cooker and breakfast bar, the kitchen has plenty of space to prepare and serve dinner for 10, or to put together afternoon tea to enjoy on the lawn. The Tipsy Laird is our secret entertaining space, a private bar with wood burning stove, outside seating and a hot tub. Chill out under the fairy lights as dusk falls, or take dinner outside on the long summer evenings. If you fancy a quiet moment the garden offers plenty of chances to find a calm corner, or curl up in the snug with a book, a film or a game. Cool for kids, and great for grown-ups. A good night’s sleep
Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor for easier access. The Cook’s Room has a free-standing slipper bath in its en suite as well as a shower, andis quietly tooked away behind the kitchen. The Laird’s Room is suitable for wheelchair users, with a full en suite wet room. All the public areas are directly accessible from this room. On the first floor the three double rooms all have king-size beds. The family room can be made up as a king-size bed or twin beds, with an additional single bed and room for a cot. The two single rooms , like all the rooms, have en suite shower rooms with WC and wash basin, shower and lots of fluffy towels and toiletries.

McGregor’s bar is located within easy walking distance of Laird’s Lodge. A 15 minute stroll along the banks of the River Ness takes you to this lively, locally owned Scottish bar. Their live music session every Sunday afternoon is not to be missed!

The Chaotic Scot - Scottish Travel Blog, could not have chosen better eateries in Inverness and has listed some of my favourite places in the city.

Lairds Lodge is only a 10 minute walk from most the places mentioned and a beautiful 15 minute walk along the river to the train station should you wish to enjoy your stay car free.

Don’t forget to book restaurants in advance of your stay since it can be difficult to acquire a table for dinner, especially in the summer months.

The walk home to Laird’s Lodge - don’t forget to stop off at The Kiosk for a hot drink and freshly made waffles.

Poor James, after spending the best part of a week chopping down trees and decorating the houses it’s time to take everything down.
Once again, thank you to all of our lovely guests who stayed with us last year and wishing you all a ‘Bliadhna Mhath Ur’ (Happy New Year).

What a wonderful year 2023 has been! We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our suppliers, cleaners and our guests for all your support this year.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas filled with as much joy and merriment as experienced by our multi generation group here. Laird’s has so many different spaces which can accommodate all sorts of different activities- even a space if you bizarrely decide to draw a picture of Donald Trump!!🤣

Ladies Lodge is just across the road from Laird’s Lodge and has served as our family home for over 8 years. This house is now available for other families to enjoy as we launch it as a self catering property.

We could be accused of being a bit biased but the location of this house is unbeatable, a stone throw away from Eden Court Theatre and Cinema, the River Ness, lots of bars and restaurants, our favourite coffee kiosk, the Ice Rink, Leisure Centre and pool, parks and a skatepark.

The property also serves as a fantastic base for day trips around the Highlands. A lap of Loch Ness, a trip to the Isle of Skye, skiing in the Cairngorms and checking out parts of the route 500 are all achievable day trips.

Lots of fun things to keep the young ones entertained whilst staying at Laird’s Lodge over the festive season. Bellfield Park is only a short stroll over the ‘Bouncy Bridge’ (Infirmary Bridge) from the property.

Head over to Bellfield Park, Inverness for some festive fun!

In our search for vintage vinyl we were delighted to come across this tongue in cheek gem to add to our collection at Lairds Lodge. The sound quality is not the best but we are delighted with it never the less.

It is becoming increasingly popular for our guests to make use of a chef whilst staying at Laird’s Lodge.

We can recommend a local chef or you can bring your own as was the case on this occasion.

This handsome chef travelled up from Glasgow ahead of the guests to prepare an array of mouthwatering dishes for a special evening meal.

Although Laird’s Lodge is close to many wonderful places to eat, a chef for the evening allows you to take full advantage of all the facilities the property offers without sweating over the stove yourself.

We also look forward to welcoming our first book club group, who will be staying with us soon. The wonderful Leakeys Bookshop https://m.facebook.com/LeakeysBookshop/ can be found a short stroll along the river from Lairds Lodge. It doesn’t matter what time of year it is, lighting the fire, listening to the popping and crackling of the logs and smelling the nostalgic scent of wood smoke soothes my soul.

I often enjoy watching my boys return home from school, cast aside their school bags and lie on their tummies on the rug in front of the fire watching the flames. The trance-like relaxing effects of the fire help them destress after a busy, hectic day at school.

Spider-Man himself enjoyed some flame watching at Laird’s Lodge today.

Looks like it is going to be the year of the staycation.

Laird’s Lodge is perfectly situated for lots of day trips, walks through heather clad hills, swimming and paddle boarding in Loch Ness and returning back to this beautiful property for pre drinks in your own bar before wandering along the river to dine in one of the many restaurants a stones throw away.

The property is situated right next to a number of outdoor dining and watering establishments too.

Looking forward to more fire pit fun when we are allowed again.
