Some great news, Drumnadrochit Nessie's Gelato Cabin is finally OPEN from today and open all week 10.30-5pm 🥳🎉🎉😍🍦

With the Lochness Centre closed for refurbishment and delays it's just not been viable to open 😓 However we are crossing all our fingers and toes that it will be ready to open soon and bring people back up our way. So let's see what this week brings 🤞🤞

We have our wee seating area open too! Chill with some Gelato, Pop Dots, Bueno and Nutella sauces. Or pop past and see us for a Coffee and Cannoli 😋😍👌

P.s the sun might come out too🌞

🎉Today marks 90 years since the story of Aldie Mackay was published in the Inverness Courier.📰
In 1960, Alex Campbell, a local water bailiff, gave Aldie's story to the Inverness Courier. On 2nd May 1960, the newspaper wrote that a "well-known businessman, who lives near Inverness, and his wife" saw a creature in the water of Loch Ness. This newspaper article is often sighted as the news story that sparked the birth of the modern legend...

Despite first appearing in a local paper, the news quickly went global, capturing people's interest worldwide. At the new Loch Ness Centre, we’ll be exploring everything from the legendary stories to the modern-day sightings!

Inverness: Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle

If you think of Loch Ness, near the small city of Inverness, you’ll likely picture the mythical monster, which, according to legend, has made a home of the loch for countless centuries. For a thoroughly detailed portrayal of the monster, there’s no place that does a better task of fueling the legend than that of Drumnadrochit Hotel’s Loch Ness Exhibition.

To add further allure to the loch, the much-photographed Urquhart Castle stands over the water as it sits on a strip of land which juts out into the loch. Irrespective the castle is now a ruin, it, together with the loch, remains among the most popular of tourist attractions within the country.
