The Waternish peninsular can be beautiful, calm, wild and stormy (often in the same day) but never boring! Peacefully situated, off the busy tourist route, Burnside Cottage is about 2 miles from the picturesque fishing village of Stein, which boasts the oldest inn on Skye (a fantastic place for a pint and to watch the spectacular sunsets over the Outer Hebrides) and The Loch Bay Seafood Restaurant. From Stein you can take fishing or wildlife watching trips with Diver’s Eye or join a trip to the remote island of St Kilda.

The village of Dunvegan is about a 15 minute car journey away, here you will find a great bakery, organic greengrocers, post-office and petrol station. It also has the popular Old School House Restaurant and Dunvegan Castle, home of the Clan Macleod. Portree is a 45 minute drive away.
