Description
Newly refurbished in January 2021, Harriet’s Hideaway is one of the six Pine Vale cottages in Seldom Seen, converted from a former water driven saw mill, dating back to the 1700’s. Situated at the foot of the beautiful Seldom Seen ravine, right next to the mountain stream Coombe Beck, in the village of Thornthwaite, this terraced holiday cottage lies just three miles west of Keswick, a truly idyllic location with views across to Skiddaw in one direction and the beginning of the Helvellyn range in the other . The area is great for both walking and cycling and lies on the lower slopes of Whinlatter, with many forest trails and mountain bike tracks. There is a gallery and tea room 100 yards from the cottage (open throughout the year apart from January) and a shop, pubs and restaurants are one mile away in the village of Braithwaite. The vibrant market town of Keswick has a wealth of amenities, a total contrast to the peace and tranquillity at Harriet’s Hideaway.
