Next on our list for 2019 has to be South Africa 🇿🇦

🐘 With Kruger National Park being home to over 12,000 elephants, 27,000 buffalo and 1,000 leopards, its one of the world’s most loved game reserves. You can even head over to the world famous Boulders penguin colony, which is home to a whopping 3,000 of the little guys. South Africa is the perfect place for wildlife! 🐧

But if you’re more into your marine animals, don’t worry! You can even come face to face with the oceans most formidable predator - the great white shark! 🦈

Our travel expert, Shannon went to the USA 🇺🇸 in October and here’s what she had to say!

📍 : Boot Scoot n Blues with Contiki
📆 : October 2018

“We started off in Fort Wroth, whilst there we got to see the cattle drive with long-horn cattle 🐮 and real cowboys 🤠. That night we paid a visit to real American diner 🍔. Next stop was Austin, where we had an electric bike ride around the city, seeing all that Austin has to offer 🌃.

Texas’ largest city, Houston 👩🏼‍🚀🚀, was next on the list! This city has given me so many memories ❤️ from experiencing my first Friday Night Lights American football game 🏈 to line dancing in a H***y Tonk Bar until early hours of the morning 👒. We then crossed the state line into Louisiana, stopping in New Orleans for some jazz 🎷 and experienced an airboat swamp tour 🚤.

From there we headed to the home of Rock n Roll, Memphis 🕺🏼 you could hear the live bands playing down Beale Street - amazing if you love blues music 🎺. Of course you couldn’t go to Memphis without visiting the home of the King himself, Mr Elvis Presley 👑. Next stop was Nashville, the home of country music 🎸 and also my favourite place on the tour! We are in Blake Shelton’s “Ole Red” restaurant 🍗🥩 and then took a stroll along Broadway, listening to all different country music 🎶.”

❤️ : NASHVILLE, I’ll admit I picked this trip for 2 reasons, the first being my love for country music and the second was to visit New Orleans. But now having done this trip, Nashville has stolen my heart! I spent the evenings singing and dancing in my cowboy boots 👢, every experience was something I won’t forget!

Top Tips:
1️⃣ Stay a couple of days after the tour finishes, so you can visit the theme parks in Orlando!
2️⃣ The journeys in between destinations are long, but always worth it. Contiki have some awesome stops on the way to break the journeys up as well!!
3️⃣ Be prepared to come home with a LOT of new cowboy boots 👢!
