Many Strands Textile Group, Leek.

The current exhibition at the Nicholson Museum & Art Gallery features the work of Many Strands, a group of like-minded individuals who come together to knit, sew and stitch. Their Buildings in a Textile Town comprises versions of some of the notable buildings of Leek, ingeniously knit and crochet without patterns.
The exhibition also includes Sew Your Place, a Leek Textile Week 2024 project by local residents and visitors who created a map of the town in thread and ink on a re-purposed sheet of calico from the recent loom restoration at Paradise Mill, Macclesfield.

The exhibition is on display in the Art Gallery of The Nicholson Institute, Stockwell Street, Leek, ST13 6DW until Saturday 21st December 2024.
