We've been busy over the last few weeks making a few more improvements. There are new mattresses, new bathroom & kitchen flooring and complete caravan skirting to keep it warm in the cooler weather!

The caravan has successfully emerged from its winter hibernation, and is now open to guests! If you're thinking of visiting the area we suggest you make an early booking, because we're already starting to get busy!

The Aviator's Retreat is now in full winter mode, and has been drained down to protect it from the freezing temperatures that will undoubtedly come. Thank you to all of this year's patrons - we enjoyed hosting you, and hope to see you again next year!

It seems that aircraft are not the only things that can fly.. our gazebo does too! The recent gales managed to get it airborne, despite being firmly secured to heavy wooden planters!

After a VERY hot (and sunny) few days over the festival weekend, there was only one option - get a gazebo!

Our new carpets are ordered and are due for fitting in early June, and the next project will be upgrading the underfloor insulation.. it'll be toasty warm when the cold weather comes again!

After the recent freezing conditions we're finally able to start welcoming our guests back to Shobdon Aerodrome! Luckily we did a proper drain-down before Christmas, so there were no burst pipes from the sub-zero temperatures - but others weren't so fortunate..

Have you started planning your air or road trips for 2018 yet? The current weather we're experiencing is keeping many of us sitting at home, dreaming of better weather and the places we're going to visit!
We're gearing up for another busy year by making a few basic changes to how you can book our lovely caravan at Shobdon Aerodrome - we've closed our website (lack of traffic) so now we'll only be taking general bookings via AirBnB or TripAdvisor.
If you're a pilot and plan to visit Shobdon we may be able to waive the 2-night minimum - just PM us with your dates and we'll check availability.

Now that the summer is finally over, and the cold weather has gained a fairly firm foothold for the foreseeable future, now is a good time to put the caravan into hibernation mode..
We've had a fairly successful first year with rentals, and had some really nice people stay. The winter months will now give us a chance to upgrade a few things and carry out a little bit of maintenance before next season (which starts in March).
