The opportunity to win a long weekend break for up to 7 people CottageGlenuig in 2022 is still open, and is extended to Oct 31st.

is supporting Ian's fundraising efforts for SCOTLAND: The Big Picture to help replace lost woodlands and increase biodiversity. We invite you to enter a prize draw to win a long weekend break at the cottage. The weekend can be an available date of your choice.

In September 2021, Ian successfully cycled the 980 miles from Lands End to John O’Groats over 9 days to raise funds for SCOTLAND: The Big Picture. You can contribute to this fundraising and give yourself the opportunity to enter the prize draw by donating a minimum £15 at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ian-cain4. When you make your donation, please provide your answer to the following quiz question: 'HOW MUCH OF SCOTLAND’S ORIGINAL NATIVE WOODLAND COVER IS REMAINING TODAY? Is it A) 4%, 😎 45% or C) 85%. The prize draw will be made on completion of the fundraising event and the winner will be contacted and announced via Facebook by no later than Oct 31st 2021.

Ian thanks all of his supporters: ‘ I am exhausted, my body is aching, but I’m also filled with emotion and a deep sense of achievement. To have taken my endurance to the limit you really do get to know that ‘MORE IS IN YOU’. My Ride Across Britain has been incredible. By bike you really experience the varied landscapes of the British Isles and how connected we are to the land in which we live. Riding through Scotland, she can be a beastie on a bike, and an amazing one at that! The mountain, the crisp clean air, the silence all lent to the majesty of this wonderful country. It shone its light too on the need for restoring lost biodiversity both to our highlands and to our lowlands- the glaring need to allow nature to thrive again, and for our mountains and our glens to recover their lost woodland ecosystems.

Thank you, we hope to seeing you in VillageOf Glenuig again soon 🙏

Your chance to win a weekend break at Viking Cottage Glenuig 🏆

is supporting Ian's fundraising efforts for SCOTLAND: The Big Picture to help make happen across Scotland. We invite you to enter a prize draw to win a long weekend break at the cottage. The weekend can be an available date of your choice between October 2021 and December 2022.

Viking Cottage Glenuig provides a coastal self-catering getaway for a group / family of up to 7 people. The cottage is located in the beautiful village of Glenuig, on the Ardnamurchan Peninsular overlooking the sound of Arisaig. It is a short walk from Samalaman Beach with its white sands and views across the Small Isles and it set on the fringes of the remnants of Scotland’s ancient Atlantic Rain Forests, which provide just the right conditions for a rich mix of native woodland trees, plants animals and birds.

BUT Scotland’s forests are in trouble, very little of these ancient woodlands now remain and many species that were once prolific now teeter on the edge. It does not have to remain this way. SCOTLAND: The Big Picture is the charity that works with a diverse range of people to make woodland restoration and rewilding happen. The vision is a vast network of rewilded land and water across Scotland, where wildlife flourishes and people thrive.

In September 2021, Ian has challenged himself to cycle the 980 miles from Lands End to John O’Groats over 9 days to raise funds for SCOTLAND: The Big Picture. You can contribute to this fundraising and give yourself the opportunity to enter the prize draw by donating a minimum £15 at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ian-cain4. HELPING TO MAKE REWILDING HAPPEN: DELOITTE RIDE ACROSS BRITAIN (RAB) 2021

Despite its beauty and drama, Scotland, like the rest of the UK has become a nature-depleted nation. Many species that were once prolific now teeter on the edge; others have been hunted to extinction. Centuries of ecological decline have led to the complex living systems upon which we all depend to falter and fail. It does not have to remain this way. SCOTLAND: The Big Picture (SBP) is the charity that works with a diverse range of people to make rewilding happen, at many different levels. Its vision is a vast network of rewilded land and water across Scotland, where wildlife flourishes and people thrive. You can find out more about the work of SBP and the coalition of organisations who share the mission . In September I have challenged myself to cycle the 980 miles from Lands End to John O’Groats in 9 days for SBP because I want to help make happen. The cycling should be the fun bit. The real challenges are the training before the event and meeting my fundraising target of £3000. All support and encouragement is warmly appreciated, and donations can be made via https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ian-cain4
