Michael and Carolyn flew in from Switzerland recently for their holiday, they then travelled by bus to Lochgilphead where I picked them up and took them to their accomodation. Their hire boats were already waiting for them- Rockpool Kayaks Bach Eto and a Sea Kayaking UK Romany.
They paddled every day, exploring the area and then back to their accomodation at Dun Eistein to enjoy some home comforts- including their host, Helen's legendary lemon drizzle cake!
On his return home, Michael sent me this photo from one of the more misty days- thank you! :)
Any one else who'd like me to act as a tour operator for their holiday- just call! :)

Dun Eistein, Tayvallich, Argyll

We are opening up from the beginning of June. However due to the coronavirus we are not operating as a B&B but the flat is offered on a self-catering basis for a minimum of a 2 nights stay.

We are just a few minutes walk from the village with its shop, café and Inn. There is a lot of wildlife to see nearby e.g otters, beavers, red squirrels and a variety of birds. There are also many cycle routes in the area and we are well positioned for kayaking.

The self-contained flat includes 2 double bedrooms each containing a double bed, with views over the village and bay, a large shower room, a dining room and sitting room, its own fitted kitchen and also has its own entrance. Please note there are steps down to the accommodation but there is a hand rail.

After giving the matter a lot of thought we have decided to reopen our accommodation on a self catering basis with a minimum stay of 2 nights. We will be leaving dates free either side of a booking to allow for cleaning? Please message me or email for prices as the nightly rate will decrease the longer you stay.

10/05/2020

We hope everyone is coping with the way of life at present and keeping well.

We don't think we will be able to reopen this year, as we feel it is not a good idea for guests to come into the village until the virus has gone, or at least there is a much clearer picture. I don't know how other holiday accommodation providers in the village are viewing this, but other villagers who have spoken to me have said they are worried about holiday makers coming back too soon. It was also suggested by a villager that maybe the village could have some sort of discussion on the way forward. I am just putting this out there.

21/03/2020

We have today taken the decision to close the B&B until such time as this health crisis is over and have cancelled all our bookings up to end of May. We will review bookings for later in the year as and when we know more. Health is more important than money.

Looking forward to the new season. Glad we live so near to the otters and beavers of course.

Reccying new otter locations at the moment before season gets too crazy busy. Plan is to get tabs on a few families.
