A young tuna was swimming along when a submarine passed by. “What’s that dad?” he asked. “ That’s a tin of people” his father replied.I can’t say I’ve seen a submarine in the Minch for a number of years. We used to see them on the surface from time to time – big menacing looking ve...

New trip scheduled: Wednesday August 7th, 5.30pm

Due to the excitable weather our schedule has had some last minute amendments and we have added a new trip tomorrow evening at 5.30pm.

Some of our best trips this season have been in the early evenings, with the sun (and the wildlife) coming out toward the end of the day and reminding us what summer here in Uist can really be like!

Book online now to join us on Lady Anne for an evening wildlife cruise tomorrow.

Did you know that over on our website we publish a monthly blog post where Nick shares his notes on the last month of Lady Anne wildlife cruises (and when we’re really lucky, a knock out nautical joke).

With literally decades spent on these waters and just as much passion for them as the day he started out, Nick is the man to talk to about the sea, the shore, and the creatures who call them home.

So head over to the website for Nick’s News from July, and a sighting from August 1st that was too exciting to sit on for another month!

With the weather finally improving a little here in Uist, we're looking forward to a full week out on the water, catching up with the wildlife and meeting visitors to our beautiful islands.

Book your place on a two hour wildlife cruise today, and join us as we tour the uninhabited coasts of Uist and Benbecula, where birds of prey nest, otters raise their young, and rare migratory birds gather in huge numbers!

It’s hard to believe we’ve been back on the water for a whole month already, and what a fantastic month it’s been. We’ve had guests from the world over and some incredible wildlife sightings, including this mother and young otter yesterday, feeding away by the boat on what just happened to be World Otter Day!

Head over to our blog for this month’s news from Lady Anne, with some exciting crew news and a tribute to a much missed friend of both the business and the sea eagles we are lucky enough to spend our work days observing.

With thanks to our newest crew member Rosie for this fantastic photo and more that you can see over on the blog

Three Hour Photography Cruise - Saturday May 25th, four spaces available 🦅

Over 16s only, dog-free. £100 pp

Join us on our first dedicated photography cruise of the season, as we head out on a longer, slower trip around Uist's wild and rugged east coast with the primary focus of giving you the time to get the shots of your dreams.

Suitable for enthusiastic amateurs and dedicated professionals alike, these trips are slower with fewer spaces, giving you more room to move around the deck and work with the available light and sea conditions. If you miss that decisive moment there is no need to worry, we will take the time to make sure you get another chance.

Book online now, or drop us a message with any questions.

Photo courtesy of Otter's Edge Campground Everyone seems to be agreed that the colour of the heather this August was more intense than ever, and it provided a stunning backdrop to our cruises past the hills of Ronay and Eaval. Later in the month the bracken in certain areas (particularly Bagh Moraig...

It's been such a busy couple of weeks out on the water that we forgot to share Nick's News at the end of last month! Hop over to the website to read about the comings and goings on Lady Anne Wildlife Cruises over the course of July.

Thank you as always to the wonderful photographers who share their work with us.

The month has been characterised firstly by sheer chaos down at Kallin harbour, where some of the shellfish holding tanks were being demolished and an exclusion zone was put around the area, meaning Nye and I had to help identify parking spaces for everybody before every trip. The first half of the....

Red deer are a common sight on our wildlife cruises, but catching a glimpse of this hind and her calf nestling in the heather was a real treat. It’s not often you get to see them close enough to count the spots!

Years can pass without experiencing a spell like that, so it will surprise no-one to hear that we have been busy with our wildlife cruises, still using the Happy Splash while the...

Where did May go?! Visit our blog for a brief catch up from Nick, with the news and highlights from our first fantastic month back at sea.

The biggest item of news for us this season has been that annual maintenance work on the Lady Anne grew into a bit of a monster, culminating in the engine being hoisted out and sent to Inverness for reconditioning. Under normal circumstances this would translate as No Engine – No Trips! But happil...
