Trinidad cultivates one of the world's hottest peppers, the Moruga Scorpion Pepper 🇹🇹. It is the second hottest pepper in the world registering at over 2 million Scoville units 🌶. It is commonly used to make hot sauce, salsas and soups. This UNESCO site has also featured in the 2006 film Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest and the "cage of bones" drop scene was famously filmed in Titou Gorge 🎥

In Tobago some time in October, the people of Tobago host the annual 'Blue Food Festival' 🇹🇹.
"Described as heaven for foodies, Tobago Blue Food Festival offers a unique twist on the typical culinary event where the local staple dasheen, or taro, is the star. Dasheen is called 'Blue Food' by locals as some versions of the root vegetable turn varying shades of blue and indigo when cooked." - Visit Tobago never fails to cover the event and Tobago Festivals even lists recipes to utilise the honourable ingredient 'dasheen' (a variety of Taro root) 🍠. As you can see, this is an incredibly versatile ingredient and can create many delicious dishes including fish roll ups with dasheen, dasheen-mango ice cream and dasheen banana bread! 😋

Canada Update! 🇨🇦

The Canadian border has been opened and added to the UK Green list! ✅ This means that Brits who have been double vaccinated against COVID-19 can travel to the country and will not have to quarantine. Passengers will however have to have a pre-departure test 72hrs before their flight and a PCR test 2 days after returning.
