Next Docklands Walk is on Sunday May 3rd starting outside the Docklands Museum.
pltours.co.uk/docks
Learn the story behind the Isle of Dogs; discover what you can't take on the Docklands Light Railway; walk by London's oldest canal; guess the country's most perishable import; encounter a pyramid and the mysteries of Freemasonry and discover surprising secrets of the Thames.
How did a tiny creature inspire an ambitious engineering project? Which deadly disease lurked in the riverside marshlands?
What connects dockside machinery with West End theatre?
Come along and find out!
We finish in Wapping High Street handy for the Overground station and 100 bus and, more importantly, the Captain Kidd.
There is a paucity of public toilets along the route.

Learn the story behind the Isle of Dogs; discover what you can't take on the Docklands Light Railway; walk by London's oldest canal; guess the country's most perishable import; encounter a pyramid and the mysteries of Freemasonry; discover surprising secrets of the Thames; find out about the Capital's oldest police force and what a 'whopper' means (you'll never go to Burger King again!).

How did a tiny creature inspire an ambitious engineering project? Which deadly disease lurked in the riverside marshlands? What connects dockside machinery with West End theatre?

Come along and find out!

Shortly after 1 o'clock we stop at the Captain Kidd in Wapping for those who wish to purchase lunch. After that we carry on upstream to finish at St Katherine's Dock (Convenient for Tower Gateway DLR and Tower Hill underground). We expect to finish by 4 o'clock.

Please note that this is a long walk: just over 2 miles in the morning then another mile in the afternoon.

There are no refreshment stops except for the Captain Kidd and no public toilets though cafes might oblige.

Walk starts outside the Docklands Museum.
