When you walk The South West Coast Path, the stretch between Looe & Polperro (which takes about 2.5 hours) is one of the most spectacular and easily accessed.

Whichever direction you choose to walk in, the vistas over Talland Bay, Port Nadler and then Looe Island & Bay are just breathtaking.

For us, the walk from Looe & Polperro gives one of the most magical approaches to Polperro. As you near The Warren, the views over the harbour & village just open up before your eyes.

From late March, you can catch the Looe Land Train to Hannafore to commence the walk - it is undulating (not too steep but wear a pair of trainers with a good grip or walking boots).

There’s a good bus service between Looe & Polperro, if you fancy doing the walk in one direction only (and in the summer a boat ride is possible too).

You can make a pit-stop at Talland Bay for a snack from late March-October at the Talland Bay Beach Cafe & then enjoy a meal in one of the pubs, cafes & restaurants when you reach your destination as a reward for the calories you’ve burnt off along the way !

The Lost Gardens of Heligan. A magical garden near Mevagissey is dog friendly with a great play area and cafe. A book of the gardens discovery and restoration can be found in the Barn.

Landgreek Barn, Polperro has a print of this beautiful painting. The colours, composition and skill of the artist Sue Lord won me over and I knew it would be perfect in the lounge.

Downstairs you’ll find the shaker style kitchen with butler sink, double oven, microwave, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and all the crockery, pans and utensils you need to rustle up something good to eat. A bespoke barn door table with benches and chairs gives you to space to gather, eat, play games and share the adventures of the day.
