Over the last few seemingly oh so short years, we hosted loads of lovely guests at Ty Capel. Many left little mementos and tagged our map board with their favourite places.

It’s been a fabulous adventure for us too, and we’re sad we’re bringing it to an end. New adventures beckon us, and we’ve bid farewell to our final guests at the weekend.

Ty Capel may reopen to guests again under new ownership, we’re not sure yet. We’ll let you know when we know.

After much soul searching we’ve decided it’s time for us to start a new adventure!

We still have some availability for bookings through to the end of July, but then we will be turning the page at the end of a fabulous chapter in our lives. We’re not presently sure if the new owner will continue to let out Tŷ Capel studio in the future, but will update here when we know more.

The roads must be treacherous, I’ve not checked, and have no intention of going out to see.

One of the big events we see locally is the Mach Comedy Festival at the end of April.
Tickets always sell out fast!

This is normally the point at which I say “come and join us…” but we’re already booked for that weekend - whoosh! You have to be quick to get the best places!!

We’re now closed for the Winter, and will reopen in Spring 2023. The winds are picking up now, and though it’s very mild for the end of October, Autumn is taking hold.

We’ve a few jobs to do on this old chapel and cottage, and scaffolding will soon be erected to attend to a few bits too high to safely reach. All being well we’re aiming to reopen our doors before Easter, and will open our bookings calendar after Christmas.

A fabulous late June morning at Ty Capel in the real paradise of Wales.

The scaffolding has now been removed and we’re ready to welcome our first guests of our late start to the season.

(Patsy our little parrot has joined in the chorus too, “squark!”)

The roof is all completed and the scaffolding has now been removed. We’ve added a little extra accommodation for the birds at the gable end!

Our season can at last commence with our first guests due on Saturday. Phew!

The roof repairs are progressing well!
February’s naughty storms did us a bit of a favour really, the old roof turned out to be a bit more dodgy than it looked!
All on schedule to welcome our first guests of our delayed start to the season at the beginning of July - phew!

Storm Eunice was very naughty and damaged our roof. Sadly had to stay closed for Spring while scaffolding was erected and part of the roof replaced. Fortunately the damage inside was cosmetic, and easily fixed.

We’re almost done, just a few bits of tidying up to do to ensure it is all fixed and safe for our guests to return.

A fabulous Winter walk this afternoon, looking back at Ty Capel in the heart of the real Paradise of Wales (all the other claimants are false! 😁)

We’re not open to guests through Winter but be assured we’ll be opening bookings again after Christmas with first available days sometime around Easter (we’ve not quite decided yet!)

We’ve had a lovely 2021 despite the ongoing difficulties, and we’ve really enjoyed having so many of you stay here in the real paradise of Wales.

We’re taking a break for a few weeks now, and our booking facilities are temporarily suspended. We’ll start accepting bookings again after New Year, opening our doors again around Easter 2022 (we’ve not decided the exact date yet!)

Have a safe and healthy Winter, we look forward to seeing you again in a few months!
