Hilltop Cottage located in Thropton, near Rothbury is a traditional Northumbrian cottage providing 2 bedroom accommodation, an open plan kitchen and lounge with a huge log burning stone fireplace.

Chilly weekend but a climb up Simonside provided a wonderful view of the snow capped Cheviots to the north.

We are situated on two long distance cycle routes, Sandstone Way and Route 68, Pennine Cycleway. Cragside House and Gardens is a National Trust property located 10 minutes from Hilltop Cottage in Rothbury.

Fairly sure autumn is the best time to visit. Or spring. Or maybe winter. Or possibly summer.
