Cladonia Floerkeana or Devil’s Matchstick also known as British Soldier due to it’s wee red cap like flowers… a quirky lichen I found growing on dead wood in Simonside Hills … and you too thought Snowdrop’s were the first sign of Spring! Enjoy the clean air of Northumberland like this little gem.
