BOAT TRIP RECOMMENDATION!! 🚤

Having been on a couple of sea safaris on fishing boats, our kids would often suffer with a bit of sea sickness afterwards and made them apprehensive about going on boats…. Until we went on Boaty, Port Isaac in June! It was such a great trip the kids begged to go on it again in August. If you suffer with a bit of sea sickness providing the conditions are right, Jeremy’s speed boat zips across the surface of the water and provided us with two brilliant trips and the kids didn’t complain about feeling sea sick at all after both trips.

We managed to see Seals, Puffins and finally a couple of Dolphins on the last trip, as well as the glorious coastline and iconic sites along Port Isaac, into Port Quinn and to up to Padstow within the 1 hour safari.
Jeremy made sure the kids were comfortable and waited for them to become confident on the boat before doing some twists and turns to make it a proper speed boat ride. The boat is very comfortable and you are provided with life jackets before you get on the boat.
You can pre book trips a few days in advance through the Boaty page or on the number provided on the advertising board in the picture. A great trip that we highly recommend to our guests. 🦭🐬 🚤 🌞

We were treated to an amazing display of the Aurora and Perseids Meteor shower yesterday.
We’re very glad we’ve got to see them here.
For the benefit of our guests, we drove to Port Isaac coastal path so we were in this area and close to Tintagel and Boscastle also, incase we needed to get to one of these locations.
They were also visible right above the caravan, however the darker location you go to, the better you will see them, which is why the pictures at the start looks so much brighter and were more visible to the eye.
People also saw them in Newquay along the coastal path so if you get the alerts while you’re down here, you don’t have to travel far to get a good chance of seeing them.
Get away from any light pollution and look north.
Crantock, Pentire Headland, Fistral Headland, Porth and Watergate bay were also locations within 10/15 mins of the caravan where they were visible.

A brew and a film before a late night drive to the coastline looks in order tonight.
The peak of Perseids Meteor Shower and the forecast for the Aurora is something we’ve always wanted to see in Cornwall. A number of places caught them last night so may as well give it a go while we’re here.
Best of luck to anyone else who’s going looking for them, the sky certainly looks good for it. 💫 🌠🌌

After a 3am set off, and another jet wash of the decking, time to cool down with a Solero before a Rattler or two later on. Thanks to the destructive careless grass cutter, we have reported an issue with the wrap round of the decking after them driving into it.

Thank you to our guests Kayleigh and her family for reporting this to us and leaving the caravan immaculate, really pleased you’ve enjoyed your holiday. Thank You to our guests so far for the amazing reviews! We have also reported the WiFi speed, which has been a continuous issue the park are still sorting.
We have found a solution for this fortunately where the smart TV is concerned.
We are fully booked until the start of October with the exception of one week 7th-14th September. If you fancy the sun and the less busy summer holidays, drop us a message.
We have some weeks left in October and one at the start of November before closing for this year.
Some guests have booked or requested to hook for next year, we will release dates in the next few weeks for these but if there is a date you have in mind that you want to secure, again drop us a message!

If you fancy a drink or some food with a view.
The Bowgie Inn is a short drive from the caravan. Either views of Crantock beach and a big outdoor seating area, this place is definitely worth a visit.
If you’re going in the next month or two, the poppies at Polly Joke, a short walk around the back have bloomed later this year and are just coming into their own.
Keep your eyes out on the page this week as the recommendations we get frequently asked about will come thick and fast so you get the most out of your holiday. We have a couple of weeks left in July before being fully booked to the end of September.

Regardless of the positive weather forecast we have, we often get asked for recommendations of what is on offer when it is raining.
Our kids have just recently had a go on the aqua jets activity in the new refurbished pool on site. Great value for money and provided a lot of fun for them.
They also have mini jet skis, inflatable wipeout and pool party activities that can be booked at the swimming pool on site.
Lifeguards on hand at all times.

UPGRADED FACILITIES ON PARK 🛝

For anyone who has stayed with us or read our reviews, they can vouch for that we always make sure the caravan is well equipped for a comfortable stay and for you to make the most of your holiday.

The outside furniture needed to be replaced and we’ve added a brand new set. We now have a 3 seater sofa and 2 chairs. The cushions MUST be used before sitting on the chairs. This caused our last set to become worn and the material to start becoming damaged. The chairs are not secure without the cushions and therefore please do not sit on the seats without them. CUSHIONS MUST BE USED. These will be in one of the wardrobes as they are much larger and thicker than the last set and cause condensation issues at the side of the sofa. Please bring them in when not using them, when going out and in wet weather. It is a lot bigger and more comfortable than the last set.
The new table can’t have anything hot placed directly on it due to the material. We’ve kept the glass table from the last set also for hot drinks and food etc. Please do not place hot items on the new table or use it as a seat.

We’ve flagged up the oven not performing as well as it should, this is possibly due to a faulty seal around the door and will be dealt with as part of the warranty. To make things easier we’ve added an air fryer. The oven can still be used but things have been taking longer to cook than usual. Please clean out the air fryer after every use and enjoy the shorter time it takes to cook anything. It is 7.5 litres and simple to use. Instructions are in second kitchen draw.

The heated towel rail has also been replaced due to corrosion and rusting. Our water pressure is very good here and sometimes splash backs from the toilet can occur on to the towel rail when flushing. If people can close the lid to the toilet before flushing this will stop the issue.

The site have upgraded the toddler and young children’s park with two new climbing frames.
The arcade has been redecorated and had new machines added also. Lots of extra activities at the pool such as aqua let’s and mini jet skis.
Look out for our next update and enjoy the use of the new additions and facilities and please look after them for ourselves and the next family to use. 🌞🍦🌊🍗🏖️

Hopefully that’s an end to a lot of wet weather that has stuck around all areas of the UK longer than it was welcome. Long term weather forecast is looking bright and dry and it’s finally time to start getting those feet wet and enjoying breakfast with these views.
We still have dates available in May including one of the half term weeks, as well as weeks leading up to the summer including one summer holiday week remaining.

Keep an eye out for those recommendations that we always try to give to make your holiday the best it can be in regards of where to visit and eat.

Our caravan will soon be open to welcome our very first guests of the year! Thank you for the enquiries and bookings that are now coming in for this season including some who are planning already for 2025. It’s never too early to plan your holiday.
Our recommendations will start being posted again to answer all your questions about beaches, restaurants and places to visit nearby.

This one is for Doc Martin fans and the beautiful village of Port Isaac or better known as Port Wenn. This is 35 mins from the caravan as well as a number of the other locations used in the series. A mix of our current trip that has seen some sunshine and a few from the previous May holiday last year to show the weather at its best.
It’s a great place to visit in season and out of season. In season can get very busy, early parking and bookings for the pubs and restaurants are recommended. Out of season is a great time to see it also when it is less crowded and parking is available throughout the day.
There is a pub which features heavily in the series. Lots of cafe’s, ice cream shops and bars and restaurants surrounding a lovely beach at the bottom of the platt with plenty of green countryside surrounding the famous fishing village.

Dates for this year currently being put in the diary for our already confirmed returning guests as well as some who will be visiting for the first time.

With the forecast of high pressure hopefully making its way back to the UK over the next week, here’s a few I’ve only just got round to downloading from a new camera in a visit back in June.
Hoping our guests who are booked in upto October get some similar sites to this.
If you want to visit the Poppies between Pollyjoke and Crantock, you will have to wait until between April and July next year weather pending, dates and prices for 2024 will be released soon.
If you have a particular date you would like to secure next year, just drop a message like some have done already and a deposit will secure the date for you. Weeks in October this year are still available, half term week is now possibly taken just awaiting confirmation. We are fully booked until October. Have a great summer everyone!

A polite reminder for people not to wear shoes or any other footwear when going on the carpets please, or going outside with socks and bare feet etc and onto the carpet. If a stain or something is dropped, please let us know and don’t use anything soap based to clean it. We wish to maintain the high standards and cleanliness the caravan offers all our guests.
(Pictures in comments) Can we also remind people to always use the cushions provided for the outdoor seating before seating on them as the wicker is not secure without them. We wouldn’t want anyone to fall through the chairs and hurt theirselves or for the chairs to get damaged. The caravan is In fantastic shape and ready for Helen and her family visiting today and we wish you all a wonderful holiday, as well as our guests who are awaiting their visit this year. Some pictures from our guests last week, they certainly managed to get around. Land’s End, Sennan Cove, St Michael’s Mount, Trebah Gardens, Falmouth as well as Newquay. It is absolutely glorious down there at the moment and the forecast indicates it is here to stay.

We have lots of dates booked already but still have a couple of weeks left in June and July including the first week of the summer holidays remaining before being fully booked through to October. While the weather is this good there is no need for a plane. Have a look on our page for remaining dates this year and as always, if there are dates next year you wish to secure with a deposit, drop us a message.

We hope you all had a fantastic Easter holiday.
We managed to attend for the second week and experience a mixed week of weather, seeing the extreme weather Cornwall can experience with huge waves and forceful winds really was an experience we enjoyed as well as the welcome sight of the bright warm weather and views of the Cornish countryside.
The forecast is fantastic for next week and described as a mini heat wave for anyone looking for a last minute break away.

The new pool is much better and a lot more child friendly than it was with reduced depths and a better layout with the children’s pool also located within the main pool. The paving into the van has had its long awaited work done for access and drainage and all who’ve attended previously would agree how much better it is. The van has had its usual maintenance cleans of the windows and decking and is all ready for our next visitors. Updated dates are below after another two weeks have just been booked. Nearly all peak weeks have been taken with one summer holiday left and an enquiry for October school holidays waiting to be finalised.

The newly re-furnished pool opens today at 3pm. Definitely a huge improvement and ready for our guests this year.

Well that’s the end of two weeks that have just flown by. The weather has been great and it’s about to get even better for our next guest’s, Mark, Sherrelle Duncan and their family. We hope you have a great week, you’ve certainly got the weather for it. ☀️

A POLITE REMINDER TO ALL GUESTS.

The rules we send out before you book the caravan are very clear, no fishing tackle of any sort, scooters (kids or electric), bikes of any sort are allowed inside the caravan or on the decking at all. We were informed by our fellow owners and friends that this had happened before we arrived for our stay, luckily the marks on the decking came off after a few hours of jet washing and scrubbing and the damage deposit was refunded. If guests follow the rules I wouldn’t have had to spend this amount of time removing it. Please also don’t drag your suitcases across it.

Those people that have stayed here can vouch for how clean and well presented this place is and we work hard to keep it that way on our own holidays. We don’t believe this is a lot to ask to stick by them and those that do are free to look elsewhere. Please also take the cushions for the outside seating in with you when going out, going to bed and simply take them out and use them before using the seating so the next guest’s don’t have to wash or clean them and they can use the seating when they arrive.

We’ve added a couple of new items, kettle has been replaced after some problems with the previous one that were only getting worse.

We’ve also added a new hoover after the previous one didn’t seem to be the best, this one requires the battery to be charged and has a charger on the top shelf in the cleaning cupboard next to the fridge.
