Maghrib at Niujie Mosque Beijing.

The Niujie Mosque, the largest of all the mosques in Beijing, was first built in 996 during the Liao dynasty (916–1125). It was originally designed by Nazaruddin, the son of an imam.

The mosque was rebuilt in 1443 during the Ming dynasty after it was destroyed by Genghis Khan in 1215. Muslim eunuchs contributed money in 1496 to repair the mosque further. It was significantly expanded in 1696 under the Qing dynasty.

During the Qing dynasty, the neighbouring markets were known for Halal beef and mutton, even until today, the presence is still quite strong with Muslim grocery stores with Arabic signage along the road. The actual name of the Mosque is Lǐbàisì, which is given by the Chenghua Emperor in 1474, but since it is located in Oxen Street (Niú means Oxen and jiē means street) this Mosque is simply called Niujie.

It is now one of the major mosques in north China.

Beijing Huashi Mosque used to be one of the four most famous mosques in Beijing City. It was built during the 12th year (1414) of Yongle of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), and has centuries of history. The existing building now reflects the architectural style of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

If you are travelling to EU and your passport when issued was valid for more than 10 years, you will not be allowed ot board.

Passports issued after 2018 are valid for exactly 10 years.

However, if a UK passport was issued before September 2018, it could be valid for up to 10 years and nine months, and those passports are not valid to travel of EU.
