In Spring 2022 The Rowley Estates planted over 6,000 trees on Hartside Moor, above the Eden Valley. Species included Rowan, Hazel, Birch, Oak, Crab Apple, Hawthorn, Blackthorn and Alder. Why did we plant them? Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity.
