Walks by night

I took a calm evening stroll around local Marazion this evening. So still. All the lit up pubs restaurants and hotels, glistening in the twilight sky. The view over to Penzance is as clear, not a stroke of wind.
The warmth of prominent at the central point. Inviting you in.
So much charm, character and untouched history. Love Marazion

“Training it??”

Are you thinking about taking a holiday with your family that doesn’t involve driving, with the ease of hopping on and off of public transport, not thinking about parking, and obviously being able to have the odd tipple or two at your discretion🍷? Penzance is the perfect town to facilitate that decision. Being at the end of the South Western trainline, Penzance has readily got access to the train network 🚊 as well as the main bus 🚌 station , and we also have an abundance of electric bikes 🚲 plotted around the town
The ever popular train line from Penzance to St Ives offers the most wonderful views of the Northern coastline ♥️ you also may catch sight of dolphins along the way.
Not only is using the public transport system great for the environment, kids love it, and it provides a space to relax and get yourself planned for what you will do on your next stop.
Spaven Mor Holiday Home is situated literally a two minute stroll from the train station and bus stations of Penzance, providing the ease of travel for your holiday.

‘Chapel Street’

I took an evening stroll tonight, I found myself meandering the streets of Penzance. The sky had shades of rainbow as the sun began to set, lighting up the cobbles and brick facing buildings, with such an eye-catching vibrancy.

My favourite beach hut styled front doors, stood like deckchairs on a sunny promenade. Sooooo dazzling.

Chapel Street has so much character! Many restaurants like the gorgeous and - glowing feelings of comfort as I peered through the windows.
Pubs, beautiful shops and galleries galore. Not forgetting the wonderful with it’s array of greenery tones.

I finished off with the view of our wonderful standing proudly in the bay.

“Spaven Mor - Calm Sea”

Just look at that tantalising turquoise treat! The sea conditions currently in our area are outrageously clear.
Get into the sea, whether by SUP, surfboard, swimming or local boat trips - with such clear vision you can see the underwater beauty and our underwater friends.
St Ives has plenty of boat trips offered in the harbour, but on our doorstep harbour also has some wonderful day trips, checkout - highly recommended. If you come to the seaside- make sure you take some time to explore it ❤️

Bathroom

New Bathroom refit, featuring a sage green walk in shower area, for that morning splash. A beautiful free standing bath to soak away those tired legs from your coastal walking or long beach days. A perfectly selected palette to add to the calm vibe of the house.

“Porthmeor”

This half mile long golden sands beach, sits in the shadow of the
Ever popular with swimmers and surfers. Family beach days a plenty, a BBQ on the beach for dinner? Why not??
Evening sunsets filling the sky with 50 shades of pink 🌅
Tapas on the menu at ... delicious. Fizz flowing 🥂
Then a meandering stroll through cobbled alleyways to harbourside. A quick drink at the and then a sample of local talent greeted us at the 🎵

An all-round night of splendour.

‘Celebration’

The forever loved colourful flags are flowing at the bottom of Penzance town. Hinting at the light at the end of the tunnel. After 5 long months many businesses open or persue their normal opening procedures as of tomorrow.
I want to wish every local business every success and best wishes - we are all in this together. ❤️❤️

Art Art Art

And a free art viewing at that!!
Just had the pleasure to stroll around the Tremenheere Gallery, just outside of Penzance.
They are currently showing a vibrant exhibition from Emily Powell. Beautifully exciting pieces.
There’s also some beautiful art from Spencer Shakespeare, Henrietta Dubrey and Richard Cook.

Tremenheere Gallery is nestled in the grounds of The Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens and Cafe/Restaurant. The perfect local day out.

Walking

So many inland walks to be had, the footpaths border fields of vibrant flowers 🌼 many a friend to met on the way, of the 2 legged and 4 legged variety too 🐮 🐴
This was taken in , a small parish village just outside of Penzance. Fantastic views from the Carn. Some beautiful spots that are wrapped in character.
Get those walking boots out now that the weather is drier!!

Freedom feels

There’s definitely something about living and being by the coast that gives you the feeling of freedom, calm, and a sense of well-being - well in my opinion anyway.
There’s something quite therapeutic about the sound of the waves crashing on the shoreline, the sand between your toes and the wind in your hair.
Penzance is a central hub enabling navigation to so many coastal gems. Alike this isolated spot at St Loy. Even better that not many people use it in the Summer months- so a real find.
Whatever you do when you get the chance, get yourselves a piece of the ocean life in your soul- you won’t regret it ☮️

Snug

Bedside tables in situ. Really chuffed with them :-) such a cosey colour palette in the loft room, especially with the wind and rain outside. The view to the East of the choppy seas at Long Rock adds to that feeling of comfort.
Cannot wait for people to come and stay again- and to enjoy the house and the local area!!

Love

A reminder on my walk today of the love that is all around us 🤍
Hidden amongst so many corners of our landscapes are little messages from local people... painted pebbles, sand writing or formations left like this. When you are lucky to find one, it gives a feeling of warmth amongst these times. Well, it definitely put a smile on my face this morning. So to whoever placed this heart- I thank you x

Bedside Makes

This time- old stools to bedside tables. Incorporating drift wood grabs from local shores. I love breathing new life into old pieces left in sheds ♥️

‘Wet walks’

Making the best of any given situation. So many walks nearby, coastal or country- take your pick. So much natural beauty to be seen. Today’s walk took me to Newlyn Harbour, after meandering through the small pathways by Newlyn Green. Autumnal colours all around with the hint of Spring to come 🌷

“Murmuration”

Upon my stroll to the local shop, I had the absolute joy of witnessing the current Starling murmuration that’s been happening in the town centre of recent times.
Stunning sky dancing, such a beautiful natural sight. Just hear those wings!!! 🐦 ♥️

‘Icy start’

What an absolutely stunning day here today.
The strange thing seems to be that when lockdown occurs, we here in the SW seem to be gifted with the most amazing weather- just what the doctor ordered so that we can get out and exercise 🚶‍♀️
The first had settled all over, sparkling in the morning light. Crispy leaves, sand and a chilly bench ;-)
The walk to Marazion was a breeze, meandering the streets and spotting St Michaels Mount peek-a-booing along our way.
10000 steps done, and it felt extremely easy.

‘Lockdown Part 2’

So here we see ourselves yet again, in a National Lockdown. I know I’ll use this time as productively as possible to get all of those jobs done prior to normal being restored.

I also dusted the walking boots off again this morning, and headed out for a beautiful coastal stroll- there were a few people about, but plenty of open space to walk safely.

Gratefulness

Wishing all of my guests, supporters and the local community a very Merry Christmas. 2021 has definitely thrown a lot at us all, but the general feeling of community spirit and the patience and understanding from customers has been amazing.
Here’s to keeping safe, and riding through the waves of the beginning of 2021, to all get to the destination we want to be, but safely.
