it all works: Pricing and Collection Information. Contact us to book a convenient time for our call. Bag your clean and dry laundry in any suitable container. We will weigh your garments, bedding etc. on the doorstep and advise you how much it will be. Rather than a complicated, individually-itemised price list, we cost everything by weight at a rate of £5 per kilogramme. (As a guide, a kilo is roughly 5-6 adult shirts) This includes free collection and delivery within our covered areas on all orders over £20/4kg. (Orders under this limit will be subject to a delivery charge of £5.) Collections and deliveries are normally Monday – Friday from early morning to early-mid evening, by arrangement, to fit in with your particular schedule and work commitments. Our standard service is 48 hours maximum, excluding weekends. We offer 24 and 12 hour services at an additional £5 and £10 respectively. If you require collection or delivery on Saturdays or Sundays, each is subject to a surcharge of £5. If you require an urgent weekend-only service, including collection, ironing and delivery between Saturday morning and Sunday evening, we will provide this where possible, at an extra charge of £15. Ironing and Return Information. Having confirmed the price and collected your garments, bedding etc., we carefully check all garment care information labels and sort your items in our clean, smoke-free work room before ironing everything to the highest standard. We use professional equipment including stainless steel steam generator irons and heated, vacuum boards. This minimizes the risk of scorching or other stress damage very significantly. Your ironed items are folded or hung in heavy duty, polythene garment covers as agreed or appropriate. We provide covers and wire hangers free of charge or will use your own hangers if you prefer. Your completed order will be returned to you at the agreed time with payment due on delivery. Please ask for details of payment methods. Washing and Drying Tips.
1. Use a good quality washing powder and don’t overload your machine. A lot of the damage and marks we see on clients’ garments are caused by them being jammed into the washer, causing friction marks and stopping water and cleaning agents from circulating properly. Read the garment care labels and sort your items into similar loads. Use the lowest temperature setting and smallest amount of product possible for economy and to extend garment life.
2. Hang drying is the best method for sturdy items, cottons, polyesters, silks, and fabrics that do not stretch. A good tip is to pin your tops by the hemline to avoid bunching at the shoulders. Knits and wool sweaters should be dried on a flat surface. Many people are forced to use dryers due to lack of hanging space or the good old UK climate, but use them with care: once again, avoid overloading (particularly washer-dryers, which often have a higher wash limit than for the drying cycle) and do not bake your clothes into desert- dry crispiness! Cotton and polycotton garments are very difficult to iron completely free of wrinkles if they have been over dried.
