Cleaning of the bronze section of the Commando Memorial has now been completed and scaffolding removed. Repairs to the stone plinth and surrounding flagstone area will be underway within the next fortnight. All the wreaths around the base of the Memorial have been removed for safekeeping and will be returned once works are complete. Works have been funded by the RMA - The Royal Marines Charity, War Memorials Trust, The Commando Association, The Highland Council and generous public donation.

Just 3 days to go now until Hi-Bike Fort William launches!

40 bikes have now been installed across the 5 stations at Inverlochy, Caol, Corpach, Fort William High Street and the Travel Centre.

The bikes will be available to use from Monday. Free rides and half price memberships will also be available from Monday - watch this space for more info on how to access them.

Join Paul MacDonald at Highbridge, the scene of the first skirmish of the 1745 Jacobite rising. Find out about the history of the conflict and recent archaeological discoveries made here. Level 1 walk to the Highbridge. Meet at Spean Bridge Commando Memorial car park.

Sunday 26 September : 2 pm – 4 pm Cille Choirrill Churchyard Tour
Join Kenny Mackintosh on a guided walk around the Cille Choirrill chapel and churchyard. Find out about the history of the graveyard from Columban times through to the present. The visit will include a look inside the restored 15th century chapel. Meet at chapel car park near Roy Bridge.

These are FREE activities, but must be booked in advance. Donations via our website are very welcome.
