Members of the Coast & Country Cottages team were delighted to join fellow local B Corp businesses for a beach clean at Slapton Sands to celebrate B Corp Month!

With the aim to rid this stunning three mile shingle stretch of as much waste plastic as possible, the team joined others including Hattiers Rum, Till the Coast is Clear & Red Paddle Co for an afternoon in the sunshine, and collected an impressive but saddening amount of rubbish from the beach 🌊

It was an absolute delight to welcome so many lovely current and future holiday home owners to Best Western The Dartmouth Hotel, Golf and Spa for our annual ‘Holiday Letting Secrets’ event last night.

Regional Marketing Manager, Emily Mercer, gave an insightful overview of the South Devon holiday letting market. Theo Spink from Luscombe Maye shared her extensive knowledge on the property market in the area, and Rhodri Taylor from Zeal gave us an interesting tax update.

It was another fantastic day at Dartmouth Food Festival today for the Coast & Country Cottages team. Did you know? 280,000 raw plastic pellets (or “nurdles”) are spilled into the ocean every second in the UK? We didn’t until we teamed up with @Visit South Devon and The 2 Minute Foundation and a host of South Devon businesses and members of the public yesterday at Blackpool Sands for a beach clean. Although the beach appeared to be very clean, once we looked closer, especially around bushes and shrubbery we were all shocked with how much litter we managed to pick up in just one hour. The 2 Minute Foundation have beach clean stations at many of your favourite beaches and make it so easy to take just 2 minutes at the end of your beach day or walk to clear the beach of some plastic waste and litter, you can find a map of all their stations on their website and see if you can spot your local beach. https://2minute.org/Locations
