There is so much to love about Scarborough: the glorious coastline, the array of independent shops, the friendly people , the attractions...we could go on!
Most recently a glimpse at dining opportunities in the South East caused us to utter "Aren't we lucky in Scarborough?" in relation to our eateries. Planning a weekend with a loved one, we were looking for a homely pub for Sunday lunch. We were just coming to terms with the £21 per head for a main course, when we spotted that that was JUST for the meat and £11 would have to be added should you wish to have four vegetables alongside! Further research showed that such prices are not unusual .
When staying at Lilian's View , there is a fantastic selection of eateries within walking distance, all offering quality and value. From fish and chips to full English, Indian to Italian , high end to low budget , you will be spoilt for choice! We had a wonderful day out recently, taking the North Yorkshire Moors railway from Pickering to Levisham before hiking back to our starting point . Loved exploring the station, our scenic train ride as well as our ramble and picnic in the stunning North Yorkshire Moors.
All the stations on this line are around 20 miles or less from LIlian's View. Going on an "ordinary" day felt very special but there are also many themed events to look out for. Who's going to the annual steam gala on 21- 24 September?
