🛳️ Sky Princess 🛳️ Long post alert..... Review of the Ship & My Cruise
Where do I start, there are so many fantastic things to say about this lovely ship, so I'm just going to give you my honest opinion.......
🛳️ Welcome Onboard
Embarkation was super smooth and rapid - about 20 mins from dropping my bags, getting through check-in & security - to walking straight into the Piazza on deck 5, this is a stunning atrium. As I arrived a string trio were playing softly and guests were scattered around the seating areas enjoying their first tipple or coffee onboard.
Surrounding the Piazza are a range of bars and restaurants. All either with lovely views into the atrium, or out to sea. You have Alfredo's Pizzeria, Catch by Rudi, International Cafe (amazing coffee, with complimentary incredible sandwiches, pastries, danish's and cakes!!) the Beliini Bar serving the most divine champagne cocktails (many are included in the drinks package too) and much more! My personal fave was Take 5 a Jazz Speakeasy Club.
⭐️ Ocean Medallion
Instead of a cruise card, Princess use an incredible little gadget called the Ocean Medallion (see photos!) This can be worn as a watch, on a lanyard or just popped in your bag/pocket. It works the same as a cruise card, used for tapping for your drinks, on and off the ship and more. It is a real game-changer! The ship is able to track where guests are anywhere on the ship, meaning you can order drinks on the Ocean Medallion App and they will bring them to wherever you are! One feature I LOVED was that as you are approaching your cabin it knows you are there and unlocks the door automatically for you! No need to faff about finding your card, ping - it's open!
🛌 Cabins
I stayed in a standard balcony cabin on deck 10, Caribe Deck.
The room was spacious, very nicely appointed and laid out. The TV was also great, and for those who enjoy relaxing in your cabin there was a HUGE range of Movies, TV Shows, Live channels and the usual Webcams from the Bridge of the ship. You can also view the Princess Patter (daily calendar) and track your onboard account.
One feature of the room I found brilliant was the dressing area! Between the sleeping area and bathroom is a large walk-in type wardrobe with LOADS of space for hanging clothes and storing shoes, plus a rack of shelves with a safe. A great use of space.
🍕 Complimentary Dining
I did have ONE grumble about the dining in the Main Dining room the 1st night but they were brilliant thereafter, whether eating in the self service World Fresh Marketplace buffet, grazing at the Salty Dog (hot dogs, burgers, pizzas etc!) out by the pool, or enjoying a waiter service meal in the Main Dining Room, the complimentary dining was spectacular. The choice was fantastic, truly something for everyone, and a nice touch on the main dining room menu is the Princess Favourites - always available items like Steaks and pasta for those who don't always fancy what's on offer.
🍱 Speciality Dining
There are a number of venues with a small surcharge, I went to Sabbatini's Italian.
I can honestly tell you that the tasting-type menu was one of the best I've had in a long time. .. all delicious and you could order additional if you wanted! Absolutely stuffed by the end!
🎭 Entertainment
WOW. Wow wow wow. I am a HUGE show fan, and having seen everything from the fairly mediocre to the mindblowing, I can genuinely tell you that Princess know how to put on a world class broadway style show.
The main event I went to see was Rock Opera. It was incredible. The singers didn't hit one note wrong and belted out some amazing songs, the dancers not only danced but incorporated sign language into the dance, it was such a good show, as good as I've ever seen at sea, and I've seen a few!!
Around the rest of the ship there are various entertainment areas, from the Princess Live lounge (managed to watch the final Premier League matches live!), pop up acts in the Piazza to the Vista lounge with a variety of acts, comedians, musicians singers and more. The Vista lounge is the late night spot for those of you that like a boogie! I was there once or twice!!💃
⭐️
I really could go on and on, from the local Norwegian folk singers and dancers that came on and performed in the Piazza, to the interactive ship maps dotted around, Princess have all bases covered. This was a sailing at full capacity and as such it could have been a very different experience, but the staff and crew worked incredibly hard to provide a seamless and smooth sailing experience to all guests. Yes at times the bars were a little busy and service slightly slow but that's to be expected and certainly did not detract from the overall experience.
If you usually cruise with one of the UK's 4 star cruise lines , and want to try something that would feel very familiar to what you are used to, but where everything is just that step up, without a huge leap in pricing, I can highly recommend giving Princess a try.

Dedication to the cause! 💪

🚢 So I disembarked my Sky Princess cruise at 7.30am Friday in Southampton, 🚕 went straight to check into my city centre hotel 🏨 for 8.30am, and returned to the same port at 9.30am to board P&O Britannia 🚢 for a scheduled ship visit as part of the cruise industries most important event of the year the CLIA Conference.

I've been networking with all the leading cruise line executives to form relationships and gain knowledge 👨‍🎓 to pass on to my lovely customers. All the top cruise lines were represented here this weekend and I met with most of them plus another ship visit on Saturday.

🚢 Ahoy from Skagen 🇩🇰

The sun is shining on this lovely quaint little port town! 🌞
We have been soooooo lucky with the weather on this cruise.
Who’d have thought sunbathing in blistering sunshine would be a thing in Norway & Denmark in May! ☀️

And just look how still those waters are 🥰
There’s just something so tranquil and calming about being at sea, I love it!

You don’t need to be told this is a fishing port as there is an assault on the senses as soon as you get off the ship 🐠

We’ve found a lovely cafe to sit and people watch!

I love little places like this that you would never usually go to!

Skagen is one of Denmark's iconic port towns, famous for its charming fishing village vibes and stunning beaches 💛

Yesterday was spent meeting our special VIP guest Eamon Holmes the new NJT Spokesperson!

Then I caught up with some work using the best WiFi at sea. In the evening we had a delicious meal at the Cielo restaurant followed by a visit to the theatre to watch Rock Opera.......simply stunning, and the best production show I've ever seen at sea, and I've seen a few!

The night was finished off at the Take 5 late night Speakeasy come Jazz Club.

One of the BIGGEST names in breakfast TV joins one of the biggest names in travel.

I’m very excited to announce that Eamonn Holmes is joining us at Not Just Travel to help champion the value of booking through a personal Travel Consultant just like me.
