My name is Simon Adams, and prior to founding Long Leg Tours I was the managing director of a successful company selling hardware to the building trade. Although I enjoyed my job and it gave me a lot of fantastic skills, I always wanted to do something more rewarding and of greater interest, as well as fitting in with my busy family life. It all started after organising a sponsored event to bike f

rom London to Paris in three days to raise money for a local cancer charity following the death of a family member. I hadn’t been road cycling long when I decided to undertake the challenge, so it was a hard slog in the nine months I had to build up the fitness levels needed to undertake such a distance, especially as my fourth child was due eight weeks before departure! It was all worth it though, and the sense of achievement I felt standing under the Eiffel Tower knowing I had got there under my own steam was overwhelming. It was at this point that I knew I wanted to help others achieve the same feeling. I felt sure that I could arrange more events and challenges in the future, and so Long Leg Tours was born. I am passionate about cycling and hope to share that with others through Long Leg Tours and the events that I offer. I put 100% into ensuring that all of the rides planned, be it the sportives or the long-distance challenges, are on great routes in fantastic locations and are events that I have done or would like to do myself. To start with, Long Leg Tours will be focusing mainly on UK and French locations but I plan to move further into Europe by spring 2017. What makes me different to others is that I am able to provide you with bespoke events and challenges for you and/or your group so that you get exactly what you want out of your ride without having to make compromises.

Our rider from this weekend’s tour in Spain is the resilient and marvellous Murali!!

Not necessarily the most natural cyclist, Murali gets our vote because of his guts and progress as a rider. From being at the back of the field on the first day, to setting off early on the last day and leading the charge, Murali was an inspiration. A big thumbs up everyone for Murali - he just never quit!

We‘re really pleased to be supporting this amazing group over the weekend on their multi day ride from Granada to Seville. Give them a big thumbs up for the first day - 30 degrees of heat, 6000 feet of climbing over 70 miles.👏👏👏👏

A quick breakfast stop at the Windmill Bakery in Warboys - very traditional, generous and recommended. No marginal gains in those cakes, but how could anyone refuse?

Our Long Leg Tours rider of the weekend is Mihika 💪👏👏👏👏 who toughed out 120 miles in heavy down pours in the Loire valley to raise money for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity. A big thumbs up from us and a great cause.

For the first time the Tour de France will finish outside Paris in 2024. The final stage 21 will be a 34km time trial from Monaco to Nice. Stage 20 is a 133km mountain stage from Nice to the top of the Col De La Couillole.
We are going to be there and would love you to join us. We are putting a package together which will include:
• Bike transfer from various locations in the UK to Nice and then back again to the UK.
• Airport transfer from Nice Airport to our hotel on Friday 19th July and then back again on Monday 22nd July
• 3 Nights stay with breakfast in a three-star hotel located in between Nice and Monaco.
• Four days of planned road cycling rides, incorporating viewing points for stages 20 and 21 of the Tour de France.
• Basic mechanical and first aid support for riders each day.

Full details and booking for this tour will be released in the coming weeks.

These guys have just rode from London to Paris is just two days!! and raised much needed funds for a great charity. This ride was originally planned for 2020 so it was great to see the riders finally arriving at Paris.

We have recently supported a group of 50 riders who took on a ride from Lake Bled to Venice. Not only did we support the riders we also delivered their bikes to Slovenia and brought them back from Venice.
This group of people are amazing, and its always a pleasure help them conquer there challenge.

Slepe Ultra Sportive 2017

The Slepe Ultra Sportive is just over three weeks away. Come along and challenge yourself on this road cycling event. You can chose from three different route distances, the 54 mile route, the 100 mile route or the ultra 150m route. This event start and finishes at the One Leisure St. Ives Outdoor Centre, Cambridgeshire, and is being held on Sunday 9th July.
