We have free time in Torquay so you can do that last bit of Christmas Shopping, eat or take a walk by the harbour.

Then to the multi award-winning Christmas experience and the UK's first ever steam train of lights! The Christmas Train of Lights is now a must-see event and the 2024 show will capture the magic of our previous shows and will also have new displays and surprises.

Your festive illuminated journey starts at Queen's Park Station, Paignton, where our train with vintage carriages await you - decorated with thousands of lights, both inside and out. Fifteen minutes later, once you've had time to settle back into your seat, you will arrive at Churston Station where the show begins. As the anticipation builds and minutes after leaving Churston, you will be propelled through the 450-metre Greenway tunnel that leads you to the enchanted forest which will be transformed by a multitude of lights with brand new feature displays - plus some old favourites! The stunning show ends as you leave the forest only to be greeted by the twinkling lights of Dartmouth reflected on the river Dart. After a turnaround at Kingswear and with the opportunity to disembark and take photographs from the platform, you will be on your way back to Paignton to experience the spectacle from a different direction.

The Isle of Man is shrouded by mystery, a sea-bound kingdom with its own captivating story to tell. It has a rich history that echoes through the ages and we explore it from top to bottom on its heritage trains and trams. This popular tour is a wonderful way to discover the island’s countryside, coast and attractions whilst travelling on its fabulous heritage railways.

TOUR ITINERARY:
⭐️Day 1 - We make our way north to Heysham and the three-and-a-half-hour ferry crossing to the Isle of Man.

⭐️Day 2 - To Ramsey, a bustling town with a busy shopping street, harbour and beach. Then to Peel, an olde-worlde fishing port noted for its kippers. Lovely scenery all day.

⭐️Day 3 - We catch the unique Manx Electric Railway from Douglas to Laxey. The line still operates with most of its original Victorian and Edwardian rolling stock. In Laxey we transfer to the Snaefell Mountain Railway for a ride to the summit. The ride takes about thirty-minutes and offers amazing views of Laxey Glens and the surrounding countryside. We return via the Mountain Railway and the Electric Railway and have the rest of the day free to explore Douglas.

⭐️Day 4 - We enjoy an hour-long, single journey you will never forget on the Isle of Man Victorian Steam Railway, described as ‘perfectly frozen in time’, from Douglas to Port Erin with its crystal-clear waters and beautiful setting and we spend some time there. We then view the Calf of Man (look out for the seals!) before visiting Castletown which was the island’s former capital with its narrow streets, quaint houses, and a mediaeval castle.

⭐️Day 5 - We return to the mainland and the journey home.

Monday To Dawlish, a traditional seaside town, with a wonderful golden sand beach on its doorstep. The town offers a range of amusements and is cantered around The Lawn and Brook, which is home to the famous black swans. From here we round the Exe Estuary to Exmouth.

We then pass Loch Venachar on our way to Stirling. Stirling is a wee city with a big history and punches well above its weight with historic attractions, spectacular scenery, and great shopping! You may wish to visit the castle (not included) which has magnificent views.
⭐️B | In the morning a short, circular scenic tour taking in Loch Lomond, Loch Long and Gare Loch with suitable photo stops before returning to the hotel for soup and sandwiches. In the afternoon either relax in the hotel all or join the coach for the short journey to Loch Lomond Shores Shopping Centre which has over 100 shops and views across the famous Loch.
