Our first kingfisher of the year. They tend to come round to the coast when the streams get low. Not fantastic photos but caught me by surprise and was as fast as lighting! Plenty of fin action atm! 90% of trips are getting sightings atm.

A rather noisy visitor to the bay. At 700mph it’s easy photography compared to Peregrines, Guillemots and Dolphins.

Join the Sea Watch Foundation for National Whale and Dolphin Watch 2024, happening from July 26th to August 4th 🐬

This week-long citizen science event is your chance to help observe and protect whales, dolphins, and porpoises in UK waters 🌊

How can you participate?

• Keep an eye out for cetaceans while you're at the coast! Observations from land are just as important!

• Register to do or join in on an official watch 🔭

• Registered participants will be invited to a free online training session covering cetacean identification, data collection, and responsible observation practices.

Why is this important?

The data you collect will give a valuable insight into the status and distrubution of cetaceans and being involved helps us to raise public awareness about these incredible whales, dolphins and porpoises 🐋

Tricky to get photos but an amazing pod of 3-5 Risso’s Dolphins at Hope’s Nose this afternoon. Truly incredible for this area.
