Personal and professional dog walking service. I offer a fully insured, professional group dog walking service, taking a maximum of six dogs.

Dogs are picked up from their homes and transported safely to an appropriate place to walk off lead for an hour. On walks, we practice basic training skills – recall, sit, wait etc. As well as getting the opportunity to have a good run and play, we stop to play scent games and other enrichment activities, which gives me an opportunity to bond with the dogs. Parkour (jumping and climbing over obsta

cles) is also popular for dog mobility and strength and, if appropriate, we use the natural environment for this! Group walks cost £12 for an hour. I endeavour to tailor the walks around preferred times and the types of walk your dog would enjoy (i.e. high energy, more gentle, water). If your dog is walked daily or a few times a week with me, then I try to mix up the places that I walk. I do my best to make the service as individual as possible. I cover the villages surrounding Sampford Peverell - Willand/Westleigh/Halberton/Uffculme, but will consider going further afield for a small additional fee to cover extra travel time/fuel. A very sad and tearful week this week - MABEL’S MATES IS NOW OFFICIALLY CLOSED FOR BUSINESS 😢

I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. Mabel, Ted and I have had a blast with all our canine clients throughout the years and I have made many lovely human friends along the way too. I am trying not to be too sad, as I will still see quite a few of the dogs through training and hoping to bump into others on dog walks or arrange meet ups.

I have loved every dog I have ever walked and will never forget any of them and have been left with so many happy memories that I will treasure always. Here are a ‘few’ photos of all those precious pooches and the fun we have had along the way 💜💜💜

Can’t actually believe that I am having to share this terrible news with you all, but our gorgeous Hendrix very suddenly and unexpectedly had to pass over the rainbow bridge this week. I know he was popular with the Mabel’s Mates family both with those of you that followed him on here and the lucky ones who got it meet him for real at one of our gatherings.

Hendrix really was a unique character who always made me smile with his excited leg rubbing/weaving on my arrival, laugh at his general goofiness and enthusiasm for life and cover my ears as he had the deepest and loudest play bark I had ever heard! He was a great snuffle buddy for Ted and made Mabel play ‘dodge’ when he came full charge for a game of chase (back when his joints allowed). Thanks to Hendrix, I have made friends for life with his wonderful humans and I am sure I speak on behalf of us all by sending them our deepest sympathies.

I am really struggling to get my head and my heart around what has happened as he was so full of vitality and life and has been taken far too soon. Life is truly so unfair. Sleep well darling boy, I will miss seeing you waiting for my arrival at the window 😢🌈

The noise made by your wellies when you are walking along with them full of squelchy mud! Put my wellies on for a woodland walk that I knew would be muddy today. Was so thankful to have my nephew with me though. Had a comedy moment when I stepped into a muddy bit and my entire wellie sank and began filling up with mud. I was truly stuck fast and couldn’t move! If Oliver hadn’t been there to help pull me out I honestly think I would have had to somehow pull my foot out and leave my wellie behind! Fun and games 😂
