Final score 9-8 to Boe! And what a head to head in the Rock Sold challenge ! Josh dominated at the start with a solid belly flop, some good barnacle knowledge and a mean throw off last man standing … but after a kilo of water up his snoz pipe he wobbled giving away the initiative. Boe came back strong with an incredible climb and a 100 hit combo flying ninja off lovers ledge. 7-6 was the score going into the silly salmon where Josh pulled out the fastest girations I’ve ever seen to even things up 7-7. Last man out on bell rock saw foul play from both with a pull back from Boe countered by a deep and prolonged head plunge from Josh to hit the high five and take it to 8-7. Pirates lagoon saw a synchronised jump with the flying salute and pirates of the carrribean quote taking the point to even things up at 8-8 going into the final jump! It’s never been so close!! Up steps Boe and without hesitation flew like a torpedo from foetus adrenalus shouting ‘rock and roll baby’ as she accelerated through the air! The pressure was on and Josh (feeling it) hesitated on foot placement and could only managed ‘fu@k it’ as he deployed. Boe took the win and it was well deserved!

Running a small business can be hard! Especially when clients look at the forecast and think they know what local conditions will be like- then cancel last minute… thanks for that. Well this is what you missed! It was AWESOME yesterday and after coming all the way from Holland I wasn’t going to cancel (unless it was genuinely unsafe of course) we have 30 years experience watching and predicting the weather in our local spots- we know when it’s gonna be awesome and when caution is required. another 5* in the bag and a tip too. Things got silly yesterday with the stags in town! All enjoying a pint and food in The Thatched Tavern Devon after the best coasteering around then a stagger down to Cafe Rio SUP & Kayak Hire, Maidencombe Beach for ice cream, coffee and pizzas 🍕

So the Power Boat Safari took an unexpected twist yesterday when someone shouted ‘orca!!’ Off Orestone - it was a Risso’s Dolphin. Just look at That fin and funny head! Some nice shots in Watcombe Head Cave and Devils Armchair leap ! These trips are bookable by appointment only - so get in touch

40 years We’ve been swimming and coasteering this stretch of coast, NOT ONCE have we seen poor water quality or been negatively affected by run off ! Blue flag beaches all around and a thriving ecosystem with seals and dolphins as apex predators. All this talk of water pollution! It’s time to push back a bit, it is safe to swim in Maidencombe 💯
It was moody in the Combe on Saturday with rumbles of thunder and screams mingling lol
