On Saturday 2nd September the wonderful wild coastal garden of Daymer House will be opening its gates for the National Garden Scheme Cornwall. Two acres of wild coastal gardens in the grounds of an Arts & Crafts house. The garden is of Edwardian style enjoying a certain amount of formalism, with 'outside rooms' created using dry stone walls, rustic paths and stone flagged terraces that merge into woodland glades and wild areas. There is an interesting mix of lawns, mature trees, woodland, herbaceous borders, pond and vegetable garden.
DAYMER HOUSE
Daymer Bay, Trebetherick, Wadebridge, Cornwall, PL27 6SA
Set in the stunning surroundings of the North Cornwall coast, you will find two acres of wild coastal gardens in the grounds of an elegant Edwardian house. Composed of an interesting mix of lawns, mature trees, woodland, herbaceous borders, pond and vegetable garden, leading down to the sandy bay of Daymer. The garden is set out in the Edwardian Arts & Crafts style enjoying a certain amount of formalism about the house to carry on the geometric lines and enclosed feeling of architecture, with ‘outside rooms’ created using traditional craftsmanship, for the construction of drystone walls and stone-flagged terraces, which merge into the landscape, with woodland glades, wild areas, rustic paths and water gardens. A garden to relax and unwind to the sounds of the gently lapping sea.
