Solstice greetings and celebrations to you from Polzeath Beach in North Cornwall 🔆
The telltale signs of summer are starting to show and our sleepy little village is beginning to come alive with the annual flurry of visitors & guests. Long and busy days punctuated with relaxing evenings in good company await!
What images bloom in your mind at this time of year? For us, the wonderful work of Bill Bartlett along with his friend Jane Mellowship and her daughter Daisy, is a firm representation of the Solstice. For us specifically, this day often represents a moment of calm that we will not see again until the end of the season, because Summer is the time where we will get the most done - in both work and play!
If you haven't come across Bill's work before, we strongly recommend you take a look at - using rope and poles, Bill regularly impresses and inspires beachgoers with his mathematically calculated designs and patterns. His ethos around creative play is one we try to bring into all aspects of life.
"Everyone's got a bit of an artist in them, a creative ability. When the tide comes in, it's a renewable art canvas."
