What a fantastic afternoon we had on Saturday for our Friends of PICU Family Fun Day! The weather certainly didn't stop you coming along to support our charity - we are very grateful to everyone that came and we hope you had as much fun as we did! We're delighted to share that we raised an incredible ⭐ £6,691.92 ⭐ Thank you to everyone that helped Friends of PICU raise this wonderful amount of money to support the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, the children and their families.

Thank you to everyone that purchased tickets in advance or on the day for our Summer Grand Raffle. This was drawn and announced on the day, all the lucky winners have been contacted. Thank you to each and every business that donated the most fantastic prizes, and a special thank you to Desty Marine International for our 1st Prize of a Days Yacht Charter for 10 people!

Our Fun Day doesn't happen without the help and support of so many people and businesses. We'd like to say a huge THANK YOU to Barratt Homes for sponsoring the event, The Cleveland Bay for once again allowing us to hold our event at the pub and for providing the bouncy castle and children's entertainer, Outreach Radio for providing fabulous music and broadcasting live for the whole afternoon, Golf Craziness for bringing their fantastic golf course along, Haskins Garden Centre, West End for joining us and providing seed planting activities for the children, Stuart and his team from Zurich for organising and running a number of fantastic stalls, games and face painting, the PICU staff team for giving up their time to come and help, the PICU retrieval team for bringing along one of the charity funded retrieval ambulances, all the businesses and individuals that donated prizes, games and raffle prizes, and last, but by absolute no means least, our fabulous team of Friends of PICU volunteers and helpers without whom, days like this just wouldn't be possible. Thank you all!

We're already looking forward to our Fun Day in 2025 - who's joining us for another fun-filled afternoon?!

High winds and high tides have caused local flooding and affected access and areas in and around Hamble Point Marina

These are our containers (they’re not supposed to be under water) This is one of the highest Spring tides recorded at Hamble Point Peninsula.

Please travel sensibly if you’re visiting us today and don’t put yourself or others at any unnecessary risk.

Following great success with our current cohort of trainees, we are looking for a new GRP trainee technician!

The candidate will receive full training in:
- identifying damaged GRP including delamination
- range and usage of different types of glass and matting and strands
- blending new gel into old
- identifying and rectifying blow ins
- colour matching
And any other skills you need to succeed in this industry.

No experience necessary but interest in the Marine industry is preferred.

We wanted to share an amazing testimonial we received following our recent trip to Scotland!🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

‘Desty Marine were asked to undertake a job at Dunstaffnage Marine on the West Coast of Scotland. Their technician James repaired damage to Springtide my Oceanis 46 on the stern head and bow. The quality of the repair and finish is first class. Given the hull is finished in Awlcraft Flag Blue, there is absolutely no evidence the boat was ever damaged. James is a first class lad and fantastic technician, very helpful with an accommodating nature… the man with the Midas touch!

Desty Marine originally painted the hull back in 2017/2018 and 6 years on people still comment on the finish and shine of the hull, it’s like it was painted over this winter.

If you want a quality repair with a seamless process start to finish, then I cannot recommend the team at Desty Marine highly enough.’ - Nick C

This Friday we wanted to show our appreciation for our talented group of trainees at Desty Marine. We have been so impressed with their hard work and great attitude, and it is really paying off with their progress and development. Sharing critical skills and knowledge has always been important to us at Destys and the fact we have an eager-to-learn workforce is a huge positive!

A huge thank you and congratulations to our Paint Manager Darren Hayward for 20 years service at Desty Marine. Without Darren, the company wouldn’t be where it is today.
As a token of our thanks, we’re sending Darren and his wife (& Freddie of course!🐶) away to Devon for a well deserved break.
