Today’s activity on our doorstep is standup paddle boarding on the River Torridge. Very peaceful, even for those sitting by the river watching.

I say “on” the river… it may end up “in” the river at some point!

A walk from home ended with a coffee at the beach never disappoints.

Yesterday we did a lovely 3km walk from the house. It was a hot day so we really enjoyed this shaded part along the route… thankfully we were back before the thunderstorm that followed!

We often get asked if there are any places nearby to eat. The pub around the corner does lovely Sunday lunches, and a great varied menu on Fridays and Saturday’s.

Nice to see another busy Sunday for our popular roast lunches book now to avoid disappointment. Next week's meats are topside of beef and loin of pork 👍

We recently spent the evening at our local restaurant Memories restaurant and it was delicious. Excellent service from the team too. Thankfully they’re in walking distance as the wine menu was sampled!

Here’s a picture I remembered to take before devouring every bite! I had the venison from the current menu.

We’ll be back… we’ve already rebooked.

Lots of fun at Circus Funtasia today. Fun for all the family. Our guests have gone for the adult show this evening…. Cirque du Vulgar which I’m sure will be amazing too.

Even in the autumn months there’s always something fun to do here in North Devon.

In previous years we’ve really enjoyed the concerts put on at Westward Ho! green by Bideford Town Band … and we’re really excited about their return to playing this Sunday afternoon from 1pm.

It’s sure to be a wonderful concert with a varied repertoire… we know because we’ve heard them rehearsing and they’re fab!
