You'd be forgiven if you thought I was in the U.K. when I took this picture of an ex London Transport Red Bus.

However I was actually in Christchurch, New Zealand on my cruise from Sydney to Auckland for the day.

It is amazing when you travel to different parts of the world how you come across vehicles or places which remind you of home.

The city was still damaged as this wasn't long after the earthquake had shook the city and iconic buildings were still being repaired.

If you've never been to New Zealand it is a wonderful country and I want to go back there one day.

This is an image I took at Puerto Plata Port. It was the first time I've been there and unfortunately the heavens decided to open most of the day, as I had really wanted to spend more time off ship there.

It is really set up nicely, as you can see sun loungers and palm trees, in another area cabanas and swimming pool and on a nice sunny day I'm sure plenty people would be enjoying the sun on a lounger relaxing.

There were plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to go in without having to leave the port area if you didn't want to.

I would have loved to see it on a bright sunny day with blue sky and hopefully I will be back there one day on another cruise.

St. Kitts is another Caribbean port of call where you dock right in the heart of the town and are greeted as you come out of the port gates by this colourful sign.

With plenty of bars and restaurants which offer free wifi if you purchase a drink this is what I always do first. It can be expensive to use ships wifi unless it's included in your package.

Last year when I was there I managed to purchase two lovely cotton skirts that you couldn't get here in the UK. This is why I love the Caribbean islands for colourful nice items.

This is the famous Maho Beach in St. Maarten where the aircraft land low over you. I took this particular shot to show you can walk around the beach at times with no aircraft landing over you.

People love to go there and get a sun lounger and sip a cocktail or two, go for a swim in the blue water, or have lunch there at one of the bars around the beach.

In Curacao it is just a walk over the swing bridge into town. As you can see from this image I was on the bridge and we'd had to swing to let a yacht go by and was just waiting for the bridge to dock in front of the yellow building.

It was the first time I'd been on the bridge when it had to do this in all the times I've been there and was a lovely experience.

This is one of my many favourite's in the Caribbean as you can just come off ship and walk into town if you don't want to go on tour.

At Huatulco in Mexico you come across this sign and was nice to get a picture of me showing I've been there.

It is amazing how each destination comes up with something different to make sure you capture that moment.

There is a similar idea in Puerto Vallarta also in Mexico.

On my day trip to Monte Carlo when my cruise docked in Cannes I took this picture of the guard at the Royal Palace.

Monte Carlo amazed me as it is well built up with apartments. It was a bit of a walk up the hillside to get to the palace but was worth it for the view over the sea and of the city.

I took this image whilst walking around the Bay in St. Thomas to the tow centre.

The walk is flat and lovely to do from whichever of the two ports you dock in. It takes me at a leisurely stroll about 30 minutes, although last time I also walked back as well and this took me around 60 minutes as I'd done plenty walking in town.

I love St. Thomas and if you do your research before you go this is where you can get good prices for cameras, good branded watches, jewellery. You need to know the UK price to make sure you get a good deal.

Is lovely once you've done your shopping to sit along the promenade for a bit and relax before going back to your ship.

On my cruise around Asia we called at Phuket and this was a lovely quiet beach near where we tendered ashore.

Phuket is also a popular holiday resort and so it was nice to see a quiet beach here.

I enjoyed my time ashore and did some shopping and took a trip up to the Budha on the top of the hill which is one of the main attractions here.

This was one of the delicious meals I had in "Extra Virgin" one of the speciality restaurants on my cruise on Virgin Voyages "Valiant Lady".

Unlike most cruise ship the speciality restaurants don't have a supplement to pay, however you must make a reservation as they are extremely popular and you can't just walk up and expect a table.

They offered a lovely menu and there are some items if you chose them show they carry a supplement for those dishes. The majority of the choices carry no supplement.

As a cruise expert one of only a few hundred in the UK with the CLIA Masters 2 year City & Guilds course which I am proud of.

I have taken some wonderful cruises and I was in Melbourne on Christmas Day in 2015, where I took this image of the Railway Station which is an iconic building in the City.

Because I was wearing my England cricket shirt at the time I was being stopped and asked if I was going to the Boxing Day test match the following day as we were playing the Ashes over there. Unfortunately I couldn't go as we were departing Melbourne that night.

This is a fabulous cruise as I've transited the Panama Canal both ways and highly recommend if you've not done this cruise to do this one.

Virgin Voyages is an adult only product and therefore you don't have kids running around all day.

I've cruised on "Valiant Lady" and really liked this product and the sea terrace cabins.
