Why Wrexham?
Why Wrexham?
Probably the most asked question of the last 12-months, but from a tourism point of view, we've tried to get the answer into this 4-minute film.
The international marketing of 'Wrexham' has given us an unrivalled platform to showcase our corner of North Wales and the increasing inward investment interest will only be of huge benefit to our local economy.❤️
Here, we talk to several local tourism-related operators who are all share our optimism for the months ahead...

Why Wrexham - our hospitality community...
Over the summer, we put together a series of films to partly answer the question "Why choose Wrexham?"
This short edit features the voices of some of those who work in local hospitality or who have chosen the city as a base for their business. ❤️
Huge thanks to Follow Films for their support and Cadwyn Clwyd for the funding to make this project possible.

With Wrexham County Borough Council's Underneath the Arches celebrating the award of BEST EVENT in North Wales 2017 and now representing the region at the National Tourism Awards in March - we had a look back at how incredible 2017 actually was! To help us do this, we put this short highlights reel together - but of course...share it with your friends, as nothing ever happens in Wrexham! ;-)
We simply cannot wait to see what 2018 has in store...and this was only a small part of the story last year!

The 2017 Wrexham Charity Bake-Off!
***2017 WREXHAM CHARITY BAKE-OFF HIGHLIGHTS!!***
A fortnight ago, we gathered at the Bank Bar Wrexham for the annual #Wrexham Bake-Off organised by Cllr Andrew Atkinson and Town Centre Forum Chair Alex Jones. Alongside us on the judging table was head judge Cllr John Pritchard (our Mayor) and his wife ("Mayoree Berry') from Wrexham County Borough Council, Gill from Essentials Mag and the Santander UK Wrexham team (who kindly matched the money raised!!).
With jaw-dropping, mouthwatering sweet & savoury entries from the likes of The Lemon Tree, Restaurant with Rooms, Wrexham (...plus an almost perfect / possibly shop bought effort from La Baguette Wrexham!! ;-)) we tucked in and rated the presentation, taste and consistency.
– Best Showstopper (Professionals only) won by Vasco Da Gama Wrexham coffee shop on Lord Street.
– Best Victoria Sponge won by Siaran Price-Edwards.
– Best Savoury won by Chris De Burger
– Spooky Extras won by Bev Hughes
– Best Gluten-Free won by Bevsbeenbaking
Overall, we're delighted to say that almost £1,000 was raised for Nightingale House Hospice on the evening!! Here's the highlights from Red Iris Films...excuse the boddy-popping action from the King Street Coffee Company lads! Above all, just another fine example of how great things happen when the #Wrexham community comes together!

Wrexham County - A Quality Food Destination...
Tonight we co-host our first pop-up, outdoor dining experience in Wrexham.
We - and many others - are passionate about the quality of food in this County, so we've spent the last few weeks meeting & interviewing local chefs and producers with Follow Films and the Tourism Team at Wrexham County Borough Council.
Food tourism is driving visitors to Wrexham. The data and the restaurant trade are telling us that and it's a massive bonus to have some absolute quality eateries in this County. Here's a short film to explain the passion and talent that exists in our local food industry, the wealth of produce available and why we should be so proud of what's on our doorstep.
Thanks to the teams at The Hand at Llanarmon, The Fat Boar Wrecsam, The Nags Head Lavister, The Lemon Tree, Restaurant with Rooms, Wrexham, Big Hand Brewing Co, Chirk Trout Farm & Smokery and Steve McArdle Family Butchers for taking part...
Quite simply - #thisiswrexham
