For the first time in history, Georgia has two biosphere reserves protected by UNESCO: Dedoplistskaro Biosphere Reserve and Three Alazani Rivers Biosphere Reserve (Tusheti region and Pankisi Valley).

What Biosphere Reserve means?

Biosphere reserves are ‘learning places for sustainable development. They are sites for testing interdisciplinary approaches to understanding and managing changes and interactions between social and ecological systems.

Why is it important to have biosphere reserves?

The various types of support that Georgia will receive, as well as the obligations that the state bears, will contribute to the sustainable development of the region.

🥾We constantly improve our competence and do not stop, in order to discover new interesting locations and tourism products, Promethea participated in an info-tour in Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.
🥾We visited the sparkling Rachkha waterfall and the imposing Sairme columns located in Tsageri municipality. Especially for us, there was canyoning on the high waterfall of Gvirishi, and a fun rafting🚣‍♀️ on the river Rion. As for the direction of wine tourism, we held a late harvest in the village of Korenish and tasted the delicious wine there.
🥾After Tsageri, in the municipality of Lentekhi, we visited the resort of Muashi, lost in the mountains, and the newly opened family hotel in the village of Sasha, distinguished by its hospitality🏡.
