TRANS GHANA TOURISM is established to educate the general population on the importance of our natural resources and why we should preserve and protect them and also rekindle the excitement of the view of mother nature. It also aims at empowering the youth population on entrepreneurship and sustainability. Eradicating poverty from our society is possible but difficult since unemployment and social

vices double daily but when the youth population is engaged and equipped with entrepreneurial skills, improvement is just an understatement. The name TRANS GHANA TOURISM(TGT) came to being on 4th April 2016 due to the original function and aim of this organization.

Oguaa Fetu Afahye is a festival celebrated on the first Saturday of September by the people of Oguaa or Cape Coast Traditional Area.  It is named after the 17thCentury Fetu or Effutu kingdom located some 19 kilometers inland of Paramount chief’s yam festival and is observed in the form of offering mashed yams to the gods

Origin

According to tradition, a plague once ravaged the Oguaa community.  Cape Coast was thus founded as a fishing community by a man, Oguaa who gave his name to the place. Such was the devastating effect of the plague that the people called on their gods before the plague stopped and the land was cleansed. The word fetu is a contraction of ‘efin tu’ in the local dialect which means clearing the dirt.

Oguaa Fetu Afahye festival is, therefore, a commemoration of that purification which saved the land from the plague and a show of gratitude to the 77 gods of the Oguaa Traditional Area.

Before and after picture of Maxwell

This heart wrenching story would inspire you.

Maxwell a 16year old boy was convicted to a seven year prison term for defilement though he strongly insists the s*x was consensual between him and the 16yr old girl. When he was interviewed by 'crime Tv' in prison then, Maxwell said he was 16. If true, he shouldn't have been kept at a walled prison where all sorts of vagabonds and hardened criminals are kept. He should have been sent to a Senior Correctional Centre, but he claims the policeman inflated his age. His new age then was given as 18. A recent picture of Maxwell was taken by the said interviewing team and he was looking good. Report has it that, Maxwell is now a prison pastor at the Kumasi Central Prison. Not even the death of his mother whiles still in prison could deflate the young man's desire to keep a strong relationship with God.
Could his imprisonment be described as an act of God?

Ancestral-Slave-River-Manso-min

Assin Manso Ancestral Slave River Park was one of the largest slave markets for gathering people to sell into slavery during the infamous trans-Atlantic slave trade. It is especially worth seeing as a prelude to viewing Cape Coast slave castle since you will be following the route taken by the ancestors of many African Americans.
It was the final link in the slavery route from northern Ghana and was known to have been the largest slave market for the merchant supplying slaves on the forts and castles on the coast.
Trans – Atlantic slave trade came about when people were needed to work on agricultural and mines since the Europeans are not suitable to the climate and not able to survive the tropical disease during the agricultural and mines work. Trans – Atlantic slave trade because, already manufactured goods (to***co, spirits, beads, cloths, guns etc.) were taken from Europe to Africa in exchange of human beings. Then the exchanged goods (human beings) are shipped to work on plantations and mines. The merchants then return to Europe with the produce from the slave’s labor plantations (cloths, sugar, to***co, etc.). The transport of the slaves from Africa to America forms the middle passage of the triangular trade.

Ancestral Graveyard

Assin Manso served as the place where slaves had their last bath on their journey. It also has the site where the returned remains of 2 diasporans (Lady Crystal from Jamaica and Carson from New York) were re-buried. The Emancipation day durbar together with the visit to the slave river as well as laying of wreaths at the graves of returnees are thus held annually on August 1 to commemorate and climax the celebrations.

Memorial Wall of Return

The Memorial Wall of Return is where most Africans write their names on the wall indicating they have found their root. There was an epitaph which pays tribute to some prominent people who were involved in slavery. Captured Africans were forced to trek barefoot, through the harsh bush and over rough terrain for sometimes hundreds of miles headed to the Gold Coast Dungeon. They suffered abuse, were starved and beaten into compliance by the hired drivers.

A rare three-headed palm tree spotted at Boti in the eastern region of Ghana. The three head of the tree bear fruits yearly, which is usually a rare occurrence. This occurred naturally and not as a result of grafting. A good sign that our lands are very fertile.
