Right, now its 2017 and I need to get cracking on this page, so expect reviews of fabulous restaurants, great bars, stunning beaches, the best places for walks, excellent local shops and much more besides. I'm on it, having to do all this research will not be easy (all that wine and food) but hey, someone has to do it. And here is Dave our kitten to get us off to a great start x

Back from Havana and wow, it blew us away but now back in we realise how lucky we are to live in paradise and travel to other amazing places. The summer is here and the restaurants are filling and life is good. Today we had a lovely dinner at Jurin Podrum with friends, freshly caught fish with garlic local vegetables is just what we needed. Hidden House is so close to this fantastic restaurant that we are in the background of this photo.

Wow the last few weeks have flown by with so many good restaurants open now, so we have been sampling some excellent local cuisine. Reviews coming soon as we are off to Cuba for 2 weeks ###

Went for a gorgeous meal with friends last night at Bistro Kod Damira, it really is a wonderful local to have so close to Hidden House. We love the vegetable risotto and the octopus with local vegetables and such a well priced menu. You must pop in when you come and visit us. This homemade pasta and fresh seafood is amazing too x

Why everyone loves Croatia. Something you can do as well as visiting Hvar. Make a real holiday of Croatia.

I had the gnarliest cold, but if anything could get me out of bed, it was Piltvice Lakes and Krka National Park. It’s that photo everyone has captured; a single Instagram post that will initiate a journey to an entirely new continent. The shot:

Stari Grad is now waking up from its slumber with everyone painting and sprucing up their restaurants. Last night we had a wonderful meal at Restaurant "Kod barba Luke" and even Nigel came and joined in. Excellent lamb and great service. We will be back x

Hello everyone, and thank you for your patience. Finally Hidden House is nearly ready to open and that will mean more time for Chris and I to tour the island finding the best that Hvar has to offer. Finally Hidden House is nearly open for business and Hvar is waking up and getting ready for the season. We can't wait to be travelling around the island in search of the best bars, restaurants, beaches and other Hidden gems for you and of course reporting back. Its going to be tough but someone has to do it.

So welcome to our new page which will be celebrating all things wonderful in Hvar. It will be developed over our first winter living in Stari Grad on the stunning island of Hvar, so not too much going on just yet but watch this space as there will be so much happening when we are finally moved in.
