Good morning all. We are happy to report that all is well at Paradise Cove! We have checked in with all our employees and crew members and all are accounted for. Our beach suffered minimal damage and the surrounding villages were spared when tracked northwest as it passed over Haiti. We continue to send love to all those who were affected and for our friends still in the path of this hurricane.

Thank you all who have checked in on us. We have made our best preparations for Hurricane Irma and have shared information regarding the risks and potential track with our entire team and crew. We are bracing for the worst and hoping for the best in Labadee. Our thoughts are with our brothers and sisters in the path of this storm, both in Haiti and on the surrounding islands. We will update you all this weekend. There are sunny days to come!

This gentleman hits the beach every morning to catch small bait fish that bask in the warm waters of Paradise Cove. He makes is nets by hand from thin natural fibers found in Haiti!

Thank you to all who voiced their concern. We in the north were very lucky that Hurricane Matthew stayed far enough west of Labadee and as a result, we only experienced light winds and rain. Our thoughts are with all of those in the south of Haiti who are suffering from the catastrophic effects of a category 4 hurricane.

There is no doubt that our friends in the south will need all the help they can get. If you want to make donations, please do your research on the organizations in which you are donating to and be conscious of where and who supplies and funds are allocated.

With his garden several hundred feet above Paradise Cove, a farmer rows his little wooden boat down to coast to our beach every morning before climbing the mountain to harvest his crops. Here, he has bananas that will be sold at the market this weekend. He let us try a ripe one and they were the SWEETEST bananas we've ever had!
