What a busy summer - I have met the most delightful people from all over the world - 4 Italian guys over for the Bob Dylan Tribute in Movillle, The Reynolds Family reunion which brought the interesting and delightful Welling Family, Dennis who was accepted into the College in Greencastle and his lovely Mum and our lovely friends from Australia who are doing an around the world tour finding out about their ancestory (any Morrison's from Rathmullan direction), people from North and South of Ireland and many, many more. I enjoyed the summer so much. But the one thing I have to mention is that every single person we met in Greencastle were beyond friendly and really helpful. Thank you. I don't know what the next few months will bring but it has been a great summer. Thanks to all who visited Cragnaferry!!!! Karon

Cold enough today for the fire. Feel sorry for my guests as they have gone sightseeing! Good news, we are running a watercolour painting class on Wednesday 5th August. All materials supplied. Highly respected tutor. Suitable for beginners. €50.00 including a light lunch and as much tea/coffee as you can drink. I won't pretend to make the scones as you really would prefer shop bought ones. Was up with Kaela Elliott Fabric Haberdashery & Home Interiors - she is doing great things online and one price for the postage. Of course, my addiction to fabrics kicked in and she had to drag me out. Check out her new online webshop. She was also telling me she is doing craft shows in the Millenium Forum etc.. Kaela is so caring by nature - her fabrics are light (as in a radiance) and make me envisage lovely babies or really sunny days. Is there counselling out there for fabric addicts!!!! Karon

Great weekend - most fantastic visitors to the B&B - it is great fun to meet new people and they loved Greencastle and found the locals to be so friendly. Kealy's restaurant and pub provided excellent food and a wee glass or two. There is actually so much to do when you visit and it is innocent and fun. Greencastle really is a treasure, a haven from a busy life. Also, don't pass Frankie's mobile chip shop on the road between Greencastle and Moville - real homemade chips etc ............. excellent!

Lovely weather today. Having a nice peaceful day doing some crafting. Got a few kits in John Lewis when I went to London so I am enjoying having a go at them. So many little novelty bits to embellish with these days and the kits are great as you don't have to buy a load to finish off a project. Hope you are having a nice weekend. Karon

I have just had the greatest week! The Alexander McQueen exhibition exceeded all expectations and was a honour to get the opportunity to see it. Theatre extraordinaire and the V&A did a fantastic job displaying everything. My mind is full of all the creativity. Sorry no pictures as we weren't allowed to take any. What talent. Went to Tuscany for a few days and had a eating and drinking experience which I will never forget. I am going to try to make some of the food we had it was just to die for!!! Congratulations to Edel MacBride for tomorrow as she is celebrating her birthday. Karon

Just been for my lunch in Kealy's Award Winning Restaurant in Greencastle. Yummy Pork Sausages with Rosemary Mashed Potatoes with onions gravy/jus and homemade ice-cream with little shortcake biscuits. Lovely.......................

Greencastle is part of the Inishowen 100 and there are lots of things to see and do. Why not check out the Wild Atlantic Way or the Causeway Coast Route - we are suitably placed to do all. Another fantastic place to visit is Moville Coastal Path Walk. A 45-60 minute walk along a coastal path, as known as, Sli na Slainte (Path of Health). The first 2km of the 4km distance would be wheelchair accessible. There are spectacular views across the River Foyle and County Derry. On the shore side are some houses of historical interest

For anyone interested in a visit to Greencastle don't forget to visit Inishowen Maritime Museum & Planetarium. The Museum also has a Nautical Gift Shop, Tackle Shop and Tea Room. The Museum is located 100 yards from Lough Foyle Ferry landing at Greencastle. www.inishowenmaritime.com
