Tour de France Femmes 2025
The fourth edition of the Tour de France Femmes will be held from July 26 to August 3, across nine days of racing. The event takes to new heights with a 1,165km route that crosses through four regions and a total elevation gain of 17,240 metres.
2 of our 10 icons make an appearance this year.
Stage 8 - A summit finish on the Col de la Madeleine
Stage 9 - Col de Joux Plane on the final day.
Here's a quick look at the Joux Plane -
The classic ascent is from the south starting in Samoens. In 1997, the Tour winner, Marco Pantani managed the climb in 33 minutes. Armstrong called it his 'bรชte noire'! In 2023, it provided one of the most exciting stages of the Tour, eventually finishing in our home town of Morzine.
Steep and unrelenting, the climb is considered one of the hardest in the Alps. Although the first couple of kilometres are tough, it soon backs off to more manageable levels. The views of Mont Blanc from the summit are stunning and make the climb so worthwhile.
We are now taking bookings for our 2025 10 Icons Tours. For more details on the Col du Joux Plane and our other 9 Iconic climbs, visit www.brakingaway.net
